    Abstract: A scalable lossless audio coding/decoding apparatus and method are provided. The scalable lossless audio coding apparatus includes a lossy coding unit which lossy codes an input audio signal and generates a lossy bitstream, a lossy signal regenerating unit which decodes the lossy bitstream, compares a decoded signal with the input audio signal, and regenerates a lossy signal that is lost when lossy coding is implemented, a lossless coding unit which lossless codes the lossy signal and generates the result of lossless coding as a lossless bitstream, and a multiplexing unit which multiplexes the lossy bitstream with the lossless bitstream and generates one output bitstream.

    Abstract: A method of encoding an audio signal, where signals including two or more channel signals are downmixed to a mono signal, the mono signal is divided into a low-frequency signal and a high-frequency signal, the low-frequency signal is encoded through algebraic code excited linear prediction (ACELP) or transform coded excitation (TCX), and the high-frequency signal is encoded using the low-frequency signal. A method of decoding of an audio signal, a low-frequency signal encoded through ACELP or TCX is decoded, a high-frequency signal is decoded using the low-frequency signal, the low-frequency signal and the high-frequency signal are combined to generate a mono signal, and the mono signal is upmixed by decoding spatial parameters regarding signals including two or more channel signals.

    Abstract: The present invention relates to an electric circuit having a transformer capable of functioning as a buffer inductor, and a magnetic stimulator using the transformer. The electric circuit of the present invention includes a power supply unit, and rectification means for rectifying current from the power supply unit. A transformer has an inductor on a primary side connected to the power supply unit. A capacitor is connected to an inductor on a secondary side of the transformer. Reverse flow prevention means is connected in series between the capacitor and the transformer to prevent charges stored in the capacitor from reversely flowing toward the transformer. A discharge inductor receives charges stored in the capacitor as discharge current and forms a magnetic field. First switching means turns on or off flow of the discharge current that flows in one direction. Bypass means causes current to flow in one direction.

    Abstract: A method and apparatus to scalably encode or decode an audio signal or a video signal. A signal distribution is considered after binarization is performed based on a tree structure. Thus, a decoding end can minimize generation of quantization errors and restore an original signal. In addition, only frequency components perceptually important in terms of human hearing are set to an upper layer and encoded without decreasing a bandwidth which is restored from an upper layer. Therefore, sound quality can be increased by decreasing quantization noise while maintaining a relatively large frequency bandwidth, and the degradation of a compression performance is prevented.

    Abstract: Encoding and/or decoding a wideband signal produces high frequency band spectra from low frequency band spectral information. Linear prediction filter coefficients are determined for the entire wideband spectrum of an input signal. An energy value in each of a plurality of sub-bands in the high frequency band is determined and encoded. The short-term correlation removed input signal is then down-sampled to form a low frequency band signal. At a decoder, the high frequency band signal is generated using the encoded low frequency band signal. The energy in each sub-band of the high frequency band is adjusted using the encoded energy value. Thus, the spectral envelope for the entire wideband signal is synthesized and decoded using linear predictive synthesis.

    Abstract: Disclosed herein are Xylitol dehydrogenase-inactivated and arabinose reductase-inhibited mutant of Candida tropicalis, a method of producing a high yield of xylitol using the same, and xylitol produced by the method. More specifically, disclosed are a method for producing a high yield of xylitol, in which a high concentration of xylose contained in a biomass hydrolyzate is converted to xylitol using xylitol dehydrogenase-inactivated mutant of Candida tropicalis, without controlling dissolved oxygen to a low level, as well as xylitol produced according to the method. Also disclosed are a xylitol production method, in which the production of byproduct arabitol, which is produced when using a biomass as a substrate and adversely affects the yield of xylitol, is significantly reduced through the use of Candida tropicalis mutant ara-89 (KCTC 11136bp) having an inhibited activity of arabinose reductase converting arabinose to arabitol, thus increasing xylitol productivity, as well as xylitol produced by the method.
