Abstract: A display device includes an insulating substrate on which a display element is disposed, a resin layer disposed on the display element and having a depressed portion formed along an edge of the insulating substrate, and a sealing layer formed on the resin layer, with a portion of the sealing layer extending into the depressed portion of the resin layer. A method of manufacturing a display element includes disposing a display element on an insulating substrate, disposing a resin layer on the display element, and partially curing the resin layer. A depressed portion in the resin layer is formed using a pressurizing member and a sealing layer is disposed on the resin layer.

Abstract: The invention provides display devices that minimize permeation of oxygen and moisture, as well as methods of manufacturing such display devices. A display device according to the present invention includes an insulating substrate, a cover substrate connected to the insulating substrate, and a display element positioned between the insulating substrate and the cover substrate. The display device further includes a first sealant along an edge of one of the insulating substrate and the cover substrate, the first sealant including a first part and a second part spaced apart from each other, a second sealant provided along the edge of the other of the insulating substrate and the cover substrate, the second sealant being arranged between the first part of the first sealant and the second part of the first sealant, and an encapsulation film interposed between the first sealants and the second sealant.

Abstract: A flat panel display includes an insulating substrate with a display element, a cover substrate facing and joined with the insulating substrate, and a frit formed along an edge between the insulating substrate and the cover substrate. Thus, the present invention provides a flat panel display that can minimize inflow of oxygen and moisture from the outside.

Abstract: A printing apparatus that can form an even thin film on a substrate, a method of controlling the printing apparatus, and a method of manufacturing a flat panel display are presented. The printing apparatus includes a table on which a substrate is mounted, a mask located on the table and having a mesh part framed by a supporter, a squeegee capable of moving across the mask to form a thin film on the substrate, a squeegee driver for driving the squeegee, and a controller for controlling the squeegee driver to stop the squeegee at a boundary area between the mesh part and the supporter for a predetermined time period.

Abstract: A printing apparatus that is capable of facilitating the separation of a mask from a thin film is presented. The separation of the mask from the thin film is important for forming the thin film on a substrate. The printing apparatus includes a table on which the substrate is placed; a mask for screen printing located on the table; an elevation part for moving at least one side of the mask toward and away from the substrate; and a control part for controlling the elevation part. A method of controlling the printing apparatus and a method of manufacturing a flat panel display with the printing apparatus are also disclosed.
