  • Patent number: 10834615
Abstract: A beam selection method and apparatus suitable for millimeter wave (mmW) communication systems is disclosed. In one aspect, a user equipment (UE) may perform a beam sweep procedure to identify suitable downlink beams candidates from one or more gNBs. The UE may generate a beam list by selecting some of the downlink beams for active tracking. When beams on the beam list become unavailable, the UE may compare the number of available beams on the beam list with a threshold value. If the number of available beams falls below the threshold, the UE may perform another beam sweep procedure.

  • Patent number: 10733764
Abstract: A texture processing method and apparatus that obtains information about a first data loss amount that occurred during a texture compression process. A determination is made regarding a second data loss amount that allowable during a texture filtering process based on the obtained information regarding the first data loss amount. Texture filtering is then performed by using the second data loss amount. At least one processor determines the second data loss amount based on a difference between the third data loss amount and the first data loss amount.

  • Patent number: 10721039
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A user equipment (UE) may identify a first set of transmit beams and an associated first set of receive beams having a channel characteristic that is below a first threshold. The UE may identify, for each receive beam in the first set of receive beams, a transmit beam in a second set of transmit beams having a channel characteristic above a second threshold. The UE may identify a relative channel characteristic value between each transmit beam in the first set of transmit beams and each transmit beam in the second set of transmit beams. The UE may transmit a message that identifies the beams in the first and second set of transmit beams, the identified receive beam from the first set of receive beams for each beam in the first set of transmit beams, and the relative channel characteristic value.

  • Publication number: 20200213987
Abstract: Aspects of beam specific scrambling of reference and data signals are disclosed. In an example, a user equipment (UE) receives a plurality of beams from a base station and determines payloads of a first control signal of a first beam of the plurality of beams and a second control signal of a second beam of the plurality of beams are a same payload. The UE also compares signal quality characteristics of the first control signal the second control signal when the payloads are the same payload and selects a better quality beam from the first beam and the second beam for decoding a data signal of the better quality beam in response to the comparison. The UE also decodes the data signal of the better quality beam.

  • Patent number: 10674540
Abstract: Techniques for procedures using request to send/clear to send (RTS/CTS) procedures and multiple timers are described. A RTS/CTS procedure using multiple timers may use a first timer and a second timer. The first timer may be associated with a duration to transmit and receive a request to send (RTS) message and a clear to send (CTS) message. The second timer may be associated with a duration to transmit a data message. A network device may transmit a RTS message to request communication resources to transmit data. If the CTS message is not received prior to the expiration of the first timer, neighboring network devices may determine that the communication resources were not allocated and may attempt to request the newly available resources. If a CTS message is received, the network device may communicate the second timer data to the neighboring network devices in a variety of ways.

  • Patent number: 10645704
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A user equipment (UE) may identify a set of transmit beams having a channel characteristic above a first threshold. The set of transmit beams may be an ordered list of transmit beams based on the associated channel characteristic of each transmit beam. The UE may determine, based at least in part on the set of transmit beams, a cross-correlation metric between a set of receive beams. The set of receive beams may include an ordered list of receive beam configurations with channel characteristic above a second threshold. The UE may transmit a message that identifies the cross-correlation metric between beams in the set of receive beams.

  • Patent number: 10585709
Abstract: An apparatus and a job scheduling method are provided. For example, the apparatus is a multi-core processing apparatus. The apparatus and method minimize performance degradation of a core caused by sharing resources by dynamically managing a maximum number of jobs assigned to each core of the apparatus. The apparatus includes at least one core including an active cycle counting unit configured to store a number of active cycles and a stall cycle counting unit configured to store a number of stall cycles and a job scheduler configured to assign at least one job to each of the at least one core, based on the number of active cycles and the number of stall cycles. When the ratio of the number of stall cycles to a number of active cycles for a core is too great, the job scheduler assigns fewer jobs to that core to improve performance.

  • Publication number: 20200029320
Abstract: Methods, apparatuses, and computer-readable mediums for wireless communication are disclosed by the present disclosure. In an example, a user equipment (UE) communicates with a base station on different uplink (UL) and downlink (DL) beam paths. In the example, the UE may indicate to the base station a preferred beam path to use. The UE may indicate the preferred beam path in response to an explicit request from the base station or without an explicit request. The use of different UL/DL beam paths allow beam paths which avoid interference from a user of the UE to be used.
