  • Publication number: 20060246497
Abstract: The invention disclosed a method based on nano-transistors for ultra-rapid DNA sequencing. The method provides micro-fabricated electrodes, which are applied for stretching and driving DNA in the solution to overpass the fabricated carbon nanotube transistors (CNTFETs) array. When DNA molecules are moved perpendicularly to the axial direction of carbon nanotubes, the DNA molecule will touch carbon nanotube surface base after base such that it can measure current flow varied from different base according to charge transfer between the DNA molecule and the nanotubes. Due to this charge-transferred mechanism, the invention could achieve DNA sequencing and make a record or compare with the precedent in the database of DNA molecules.

  • Publication number: 20060238952
Abstract: This invention disclosed a corona discharge apparatus composed of a plurality of substrate deposited with matrix of carbon nanotubes. By using ventilation device, the airflow can pass through the corona discharge apparatus, and the electric charge produced due to the corona discharge on the carbon nanotubes. The electric charge impacts oxygen molecular is divided two oxygen atoms. The reaction of oxygen molecular and oxygen atom can produce ozone. Furthermore, by performing corona discharge, at least part of the particle of gas will become charged particle, and the present invention further comprises a particle collector used to collect the charged particle. When the particle in the air followed by airflow pass through the corona discharge apparatus, the electric charge produced due to corona discharge on the carbon nanotubes can attach to the particle to achieve the charging.

  • Publication number: 20060104503
Abstract: An apparatus and method that uses at least six digital cameras to capture images of the foot, can reconstruct the 3D model of the foot rapidly. Users can only wear elastic socks, which have specially coded multicolored stripes or spots, and stands on the transparent plate of a platform. First from two parallel cameras under the transparent plate, the 3D contour about the sole of the foot can be computed and reconstructed through stereosis algorithm. Similarly, from the other four cameras at least around the upper part of the foot, four or more curved surfaces are combined to reconstruct 3D contour of the upper portion of the foot. Combining the bottom contours and upper contours of the foot the complete 3D foot model can be obtained.

  • Publication number: 20050115955
Abstract: A micro-heating apparatus for locally controlling a temperature in a mold includes substrate, at least a micro-heating module installed on the substrate, and at least a temperature detector installed on the substrate near the micro-heater for measuring the local temperature. The micro-heating module includes a micro-heater, an external power circuit, and a connection electrode for connecting the external power circuit and a programmable external power device. The substrate with the micro-heating module and the temperature detector thereon is capable of combining with the mold so that the micro-heater contacts a plastic material in the mold. The programmable external power device is used for connecting to the external power circuit to control the micro-heater to heat the plastic material so as to control the temperature when the temperature around an interface of the plastic material and the micro-heater is measured.

  • Patent number: 6863585
Abstract: A method of bonding spacers to an anode plate of a field emission display. An anode plate having separate phosphor regions is provided, wherein a black matrix material is provided to separate the phosphor regions from one another. A magnetic layer is formed on the black matrix material. A thin metal film is formed on the anode plate and the magnetic layer. Spacers are disposed on the metal film above the black matrix material. An electromagnetic induction procedure is performed to heat the magnetic layer and thus serves as a heating source to produce heat, wherein the heat goes through the metal film to heat the spacers. A direct current (D.C.) electric field procedure is performed to bond the spacers to the metal film above the black matrix material.

  • Publication number: 20040188427
Abstract: A high frequency induction heater built in an injection mold. The high frequency induction heater has a metal or silicon mold-insert, at least a heating module and at least a thermometer detector. The elements are reasonably fit with the mold-insert utilizing well-defined MEMS technology and UV-LIGA process. The high frequency induction heater is employed to apply a local heat for a microstructure of mold-insert during the micro molding process. By using the high frequency induction heater a fluid mold flow and high aspect ratio replication is achieved.

  • Patent number: 6607934
Abstract: A micro-electromechanical (MEM) process for fabrication of integrated multi-frequency communication passive components is fused into co-fired ceramics by way of “flip chip” for fabrication of a low-cost, high-performance, and high-reliability hybrid communication passive component applicable in the frequency range of 0.9 GHz˜100 GHz. The basic structure of the passive component is a double-layer substrate comprising a low-loss ceramic or glass bottom-layer substrate and a glass or plastic poly-molecular top-layer substrate and an optional ceramic substrate at the lowest layer. As the materials used and the processing temperature in the MEM process is compatible with the CMOS process, thus this invention is fit for serving as a post process following the CMOS process.

  • Patent number: 6483485
Abstract: A system formed by a device on the CCD or CMOS above a terminal display and a display screen setting program is disclosed. This system will set the working environment of a VDT user to an optimum value. The images of the VDT user and the peripheral environment are captured. Then the working environment of the VDT user, the illumination of the environment of the VDT user, the fatigue of the VDT user, and the distance between the VDT user and a display are determined. The brightness, contrast, colors and clearness of the font of the terminal display are adjusted and controlled automatically according to the illumination of the environment of the VDT user and the fatigue of the VDT user. When the illumination of the environment of the VDT user, the fatigue of the VDT user, and the distance between the VDT user and a display has been over a predetermined condition, an alarm will emit to inform the user.
