  • Patent number: 6883206
Abstract: A swivel hinge with angular fixing structure is employed to connect a mainframe and a display means of a notebook computer. The swivel hinge has a fixture part, a fixture friction ring, a rotation part, a rotation friction ring, and an elastic ring. The fixture part mounted on the mainframe has a through hole in the center thereof. The fixture friction ring mounted on the fixture part has at least one holder on the surface. The rotation friction ring mounted on the rotation part has at least one slot in the surface thereof. The elastic ring is located between the fixture part and the fixture friction ring. If the slot and the holder on the friction ring fit into each other, the desired angular fixing function is provided.

  • Publication number: 20040227724
Abstract: A liquid crystal display with optical disk drive control functions is described. The liquid crystal display is utilized in a notebook/tablet dual-purpose computer. The liquid crystal display has a liquid crystal display panel, a plurality of control buttons, and an option determining device. The control buttons can directly control the optical disk drive to play an optical disk content on the liquid crystal display panel after the control functions of the control buttons are set by the option determining device. The option determining device is capable of switching within predetermined working functions of the liquid crystal display. The computer is capable of playing the optical disk content as a central processing unit thereof shuts down. The option determining device further includes an option controller and an option inductor to switch the liquid crystal display to a handwriting input panel and set the functions of the control buttons.

  • Publication number: 20040189017
Abstract: A magnetic locking device is described. The magnetic locking device is utilized for locking an electric device upper cover especially for locking both sides of the display cover of a notebook/tablet dual-purpose personal computer. The magnetic locking device has a lock module and a hook module. The lock module installed in the upper cover has a lock module base, a release button, a magnet, a first bezel and a second bezel. The hook module installed in the electric device base has a hook module base, a spring device, and a hook. The spring device pulls the hook to hide in the electric device base when the hook is not working to improve the electric device appearance and to eliminate interference during operation.

  • Patent number: 6771497
Abstract: A heat dissipation apparatus for a notebook computer with a desktop central processing unit is described. The heat dissipation apparatus has a heat pipe, a first heat exchanger, a first fan, a second heat exchanger, and a second fan. The heat pipe couples with the desktop central processing unit to absorb heat therefrom. The first heat exchanger couples with the heat pipe directly above the desktop central processing unit. The first fan blows on the first heat exchanger to remove internal heat. The second heat exchanger couples with the heat pipe to absorb the residual heat from the heat pipe and the second fan blows on the second heat exchanger to remove the residual heat. The second fan starts working when the internal temperature of the notebook computer is too high. Both the first fan and second fan comprise two inlets respectively, and therefore the cold air is from both inside and outside of the notebook computer.

  • Publication number: 20040141284
Abstract: A rotatable display fixing module is described. The rotatable display fixing module has a first rotational device, a second rotational device, a fixing switch and an auxiliary fixing stud. The first rotational device rotatably connects with a display and the second rotational device. The fixing switch and the auxiliary fixing stud rebound up to fix the second rotational device at predetermined angles and the auxiliary fixing stud passes through a fixing hole on a rotational element of the second rotational device. The display can therefore rotate on the first rotational device only. When the fixing switch and the auxiliary fixing stud are pressed, the display can rotate on the first rotational device and the second rotational device.

  • Publication number: 20030224651
Abstract: A conducting-wire connector used to be coupled to a signal line such that the signal line can be electrically connected to a circuit board via the conducting-wire connector. The conducting-wire connector includes at least a connector body and a exerting section, wherein the connector body is used to be coupled with a signal line and a circuit board whereas the exerting section, which is installed on the connector body, with force being applied onto it, facilitates the connector body to be removed from the circuit board if the connector body is coupled to the circuit board. In practice, the exerting section can be a protruding section, an indenting section or a dragging bar whereas the signal line can be an LCD cable or a flat cable.
