A specific motion trajectory of a scanning device is sensed to determine whether the scanning device is moved along a predetermined path. If so, an image sensor of the scanning device is switched on. A determination is made as to whether the scanning device is moved down to a lower position. If so, the image sensor of the scanning device is switched off.

    Abstract: An insect-trapping device includes a container, a funnel element, a photo interrupter and a controller. The container is formed with an inlet and an accommodation space connected to each other. The funnel element is with light-absorbed color, placed on the inlet, and inserts into the accommodation space. The photo interrupter is located within an inner passage of the funnel element for sensing whether at least one of insects passes through the inner passage from the inlet. The controller is electrically connected to the first photo interrupter for counting the insects passing through the inner passage according to the photo interrupter.

The controller is electrically connected to the camera and the first light source and is configured to: control the camera to capture a first picture of the object under the condition that the first light source does not emit any light; control the camera to captures a second picture of the object under the condition that the first light source emits a light; subtract the first picture from the second picture to filter off the background brightness of the second picture to obtain a first filtered picture; and analyze the first filtered picture to obtain a probability of the object matching a certain state.

The photographic module is located on the housing, and provided with an image-capturing optical axis which is perpendicular to the viewing path. The light splitting element is located at an intersection of the viewing path and the image-capturing optical axis for guiding information located in the dose scale window to the photographic module and the viewing window, respectively. The signal transmission device is electrically connected to the photographic module for transmitting signals of the photographic module to an external device.
