  • Publication number: 20260231024
Abstract: In some examples of the techniques described herein, the latency of connected mode discontinuous reception (C-DRX) may be reduced by utilizing a low power wake-up signal (LP-WUS). For instance, physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) monitoring may be triggered based on the LP-WUS with the C-DRX configuration as a power saving procedure for a radio resource control (RRC) connected mode. In some approaches, the cycles of the additional PDCCH monitoring triggered by LP-WUS may be coordinated with C-DRX cycles. For example, an LP-WUS PDCCH monitoring cycle may evenly divide the C-DRX cycle. Utilizing the even division may allow, in one or more C-DRX cycles, a UE to perform a radio resource management (RRM) measurement in one or more time durations in which UE does not monitor the PDCCH. For instance, the RRM measurement procedure may be improved by reducing complexity of time durations in which RRM measurement may be performed.

  • Patent number: 12701512
Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure are directed to methods and apparatus for time and frequency synchronization during a low-power wake up signal (LP-WUS) procedure. For example, an LP-WUS procedure may include transmission of signaling modulated via on-off keying (OOK). Such a signal requires less processing relative to an orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) modulated signal and can be used to notify a wireless node that the transmitting device has data to transmit to the wireless node via an OFDM transmission. Accordingly, in response to the LP-WUS signal, the wireless node may power-on a main radio capable of receiving and demodulating the OFDM transmission.

  • Publication number: 20260223240
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may support low-power wake-up signal (LP-WUS) monitoring within a discontinuous reception (DRX) cycle active time in accordance with an LP-WUS monitoring configuration to trigger downlink monitoring. The UE may receive one or more indications of a DRX configuration. The DRX configuration may include an on duration of a DRX cycle and a set of one or more LP-WUS monitoring occasions associated with the DRX cycle. The UE may monitor for LP-WUSs associated with the UE during each of the set of one or more LP-WUS monitoring occasions. Then, the UE may monitor for downlink transmissions in the on duration of the DRX cycle based on whether an LP-WUS was received by the UE in accordance with the monitoring for LP-WUSs.

  • Patent number: 12690063
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive an indication of a first slot-related channel sensing procedure to perform during channel sensing. The first slot-related channel sensing procedure may be one of multiple available slot-related channel sensing procedures. The first slot-related channel sensing procedure may indicate time interval increments in which to perform the channel sensing. The UE may perform the first slot-related channel sensing procedure based on the indication. The UE may perform the first slot-related channel sensing procedure in the time interval increments of a sidelink resource pool to identify a first time-frequency resource of the sidelink resource pool that is available for transmission of a sidelink message.

  • Publication number: 20260205190
Abstract: A method for wireless communication at a user equipment (UE) and related apparatus are provided. In the method, the UE transmits a request for a beam training session to a network entity in response to a displacement condition being met. The displacement condition is associated with a relative movement of the first antenna panel of the UE with respect to the second antenna panel of the UE. The UE then performs the beam training session with the network entity based on the request.

  • Publication number: 20260150045
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In some systems, a user equipment (UE) may include a main radio and a low-power wake-up radio. While operating in a radio resource control (RRC) inactive state, the UE may use the low-power wake-up radio to monitor for signals. In some examples, the UE or a network entity may determine a relatively small amount of data (e.g., satisfying a threshold data volume) for communication between the UE and the network entity. The UE may receive a low-power synchronization signal via the low-power wake-up radio and may measure a signal strength or quality associated with the low-power synchronization signal. The UE may use this low-power synchronization signal measurement to determine whether to initiate a small data transmission (SDT) session for communicating the data. The UE may transmit an SDT initiation message if the low-power synchronization signal measurement satisfies a threshold value.

  • Publication number: 20260143429
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described in which a configuration of a wake-up signal (WUS), synchronization signal (SS), or both, may be selected based on one or more conditions at a user equipment (UE) that is to receive the signal. The configuration of the WUS, the SS, or both, may indicate a value (M) that corresponds to a quantity of bits per duration of time, such as per orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) symbol duration. The configuration may also indicate whether an associated signal is transmitted with or without Manchester coding. In some implementations, a UE may transmit an indication of a requested or preferred configuration for a WUS or SS, and may be configured in accordance with the requested configuration.
