  • Patent number: 6802967
Abstract: Liquid chromatography based on the difference of two or more kinds of separation modes, (e.g., chemical or physical properties of analytes) may improve separations when samples contain complex mixtures. In this invention, the analytes separated on the 1st analysis system (consisting of the 1st column and the 1st mobile phase) will be trapped onto individual trapping columns. Then the trapped analytes will be loaded onto the 2nd analysis system consisting of the 2nd column and the 2nd mobile phase. This invention has the trapping and loading mechanism consisting of a combination of switching valves necessary to produce the serial separations. Also this invention has the capability to affect online desalting when it is needed depending on a detector or the nature of the analyte mixture.

  • Patent number: 6566005
Abstract: A battery pack (1) includes an air intake port (9), air discharge ports (11), first air passages (24), and a second air passage (25). Cooling air introduced into the battery pack through the air intake port (9) flows around and through two cell groups contained in the pack before exiting to the pack from the discharge ports (11). As the intake port and the discharge ports are both provided at an upper enclosure (4) of the battery pack that is set on a charger (50) for charging or an electric power tool as a power source, neither intake port nor the discharge ports are exposed to the exterior environment whether the pack is set on the charger or attached to a power tool.

  • Publication number: 20020092736
Abstract: Products can be surely conveyed even if the endless belt is loosening. Since the endless belt 35 is sandwiched in between the product and the rollers 6 which are driven when products are supplied to the conveyor system 1, the slip is not generated between the endless belt 35 and the rollers 6 and the rotation of the rollers 6 can be surely transmitted to the endless belt 35, so that the products can be surely conveyed.

  • Patent number: 6346793
Abstract: A charger (1) includes a box enclosure (2), terminals (11, 12, 13), and a protective terminal cover (14) which in turn includes a top plate (15) extending at right angles to a pair of guide rails (6). The terminal cover (14) is pivotally supported by a pair of pivot pins (17) inside the box enclosure (2) such that the terminal cover (14) is pivotal between a protruding position, in which the top plate (15) is located directly above and protects the terminals and a retracted position, in which the terminal cover (14) is completely retracted inside the box enclosure (2). The terminal cover (14) is biased to the protruding position by a torsion spring (18) when a battery pack (40) is not set on the charger (1) for a recharge, whereas the terminal cover is manually moved to the retracted position against the biasing force of the torsion spring when the battery pack is slid on the charger into a set position.

  • Publication number: 20010010268
Abstract: In a hydraulic impulse screwdriver (1), a hammer (13) includes axial grooves (14) formed in the inner side wall thereof, and a spindle (11) includes V-shaped cam grooves (15) formed in the outer side wall thereof. A plurality of balls (16) are disposed in the space between the axial grooves and the opposing cam grooves. The screwdriver additionally includes a coil spring (17) for biasing the hammer (13) in a forward direction. The hammer is coupled to an anvil (19) by means of engaging recesses (18) of the hammer and engaging teeth (21) of the anvil so as to rotate integrally with the anvil. The anvil is firmly connected to a main body (24) of a hydraulic unit (23).

  • Publication number: 20010005961
Abstract: A plurality of column members 6a, 6b of a rack are joined with an earthquake-damping joint 21. The earthquake-damping joint 24 comprises a deformation portion 24, which is narrower so as to gain increased plastic formability, and a pair of fixing portions 26, which are strengthened with increased thickness, to join an upper joint section 20a and a lower joint section 20b with a plurality of bolts 28 or the like. Said deformation portion 24 is deformed by the horizontal stress applied in the direction perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the rack and the upper column member 6a moves upwardly, absorbing the vibration energy. Said fixing portions 26 are strengthened by increased thickness so that the bolts 28 do not yield to the shock.

  • Patent number: 5952038
Abstract: This invention provides a process for forming a phosphor screen of a monochrome cathode ray tube (projection tube) which has an improved luminance remaining property. The phosphor particles are settled on an inner surface of a glass bulb with a binder of SiO.sub.2 to form a phosphor layer, in which the amount of SiO.sub.2 is reduced by rinsing with a water-based liquid like deionized water and a PVA solution before forming an organic layer on the phosphor layer. The phosphor screen has an improved luminance remaining property that is close to that of a direct viewing color cathode ray tube, without lowering the screen quality.
