  • Patent number: 5663640
Abstract: A rolling bearing unit with rotational speed sensor has a holder releasably engaged with the sensor cover, such that prior to installation, the holder is externally engaged with the cover, with the harness passed out through an opening of the holder and wound around the wrapping tube portion of the holder, so that the long harness does not hang down at the time of shipping and installation of the speed sensing rolling bearing unit, and hence does not interfere with these operations.

  • Patent number: 5622436
Abstract: A bearing unit with a rotational speed detection unit has a tone wheel which has recesses on its outer peripheral surface and rotates with the magnetic hub and the inner ring, a sensor which has a first stator with notches and a second stator, and a permanent magnet, so that due to the changes in phase of the notches and recesses, the density of the magnetic flux from the permanent magnet is changed, with the magnetic flux led to the second stator and to the hub and inner ring, whereby the number of winding in the coil is increased.

  • Patent number: 5614822
Abstract: A rolling bearing unit has a rotational speed detection device which has a sensor having a yoke, a pair of permanent magnets, a coil, and a tone wheel. The tone wheel is made by press-forming a magnetic metal plate so as to form a cylindrical support base secured onto an end portion of the bearing unit. The tone wheel has a ring-shaped first detecting part which is bent radially outward from the inner rim of the cylindrical support base, and a cylindrical shaped second detecting part which extends axially from the outer peripheral rim of the first detecting part. The first and second detecting parts have a ferro-magnetic first portion and a non-magnetic second portion, and the yoke has opposite ends which are faced to the first and second portions. The permanent magnets have like poles faced toward each other so that magnetic fluxes flow alternately through the yoke corresponding to the rotation of the tone wheel.
