  • Publication number: 20030113103
Abstract: An image recording apparatus includes a CPU. The CPU, when recording a plurality of frames of JPEG data onto a magneto optical disk, calculates a difference between a remainder acquired by dividing a JPEG data size of each frame by a cluster size and the cluster size. The JPEG data is recorded on a data area of the magneto optical disk in a state pad data with a size corresponding to the calculated difference is added to an end. A head address of each frame of the JPEG data coincides with a head address of a cluster. Management information individually managing the JPEG data of each frame is recorded on the data area and an FAT area on the magneto optical disk.

  • Publication number: 20030113099
Abstract: An image recording apparatus includes a JPEG CODEC that produces JPEG data by compressing image data. Markers SOI and EOI are embedded in produced JPEG data, and such the JPEG data is recorded into a magnetooptical disk by a disk drive. Upon completion of recording a plurality of frames of the JPEG data, each frame of the JPEG data is read out into a work area of an SDRAM, and the markers SOI and EOI are detected from the read JPEG data. Index information of each frame of the JPEG data is generated on the basis of the detected markers SOI and EOI. Generated index information is recorded following a last frame of the JPEG data.

  • Publication number: 20030107657
Abstract: A digital camera 10 includes a CCD imager 14. When an interval photographing or an animation photographing is selected, an object is photographed by the CCD imager 14 for a plurality of times, and compressed image data is generated each photographing by each photographing. The generated compressed image data is stored in a temporary area of an magnetooptical disk 42. Upon completion of photographing the desired number of frames, the generated respective compressed image data are converted into a moving image file, and moved to a proper recording area of the magnetooptical disk 42. Frame rate information is written in the moving image file. Upon reproducing, firstly, the frame rate information is detected, the compressed image data of each frame is reproduced in accordance with this information. The moving image that moves at a desired speed is displayed on a monitor 30.

  • Publication number: 20030038997
Abstract: For use in copying data between a plurality of recording media, the present invention provides a data processing device adds up the amounts of data on a plurality of files recorded on a transmitting medium to thereby detect the total amount of copy data, displays an intermediate result of addition on a display unit while updating the result displayed during a process from the start of addition of the amounts of file data until the completion of addition and displays the final result of addition on the display unit upon the completion of addition. The user is unlikely to feel uneasy even when the detection of the total amount of copy data takes time.

  • Publication number: 20020109780
Abstract: A digital camera includes a shutter button. An optimal compression ratio of an image signal fetched in response to a photographing instruction from the shutter button is predicted prior to the photographing instruction. More specifically, an image signal fetched before application of the photographing instruction is compressed by a JPEG codec, and the optimal compression ratio is predicted based on a size of a compressed image signal thus obtained. An image signal fetched in response to the photographing instruction is compressed on the basis of the optimal compression ratio, and a compressed image signal thus obtained is recorded onto a recording medium.

  • Publication number: 20020034141
Abstract: A disk apparatus includes a slot. A magnetooptical disk is attached to the slot. When the slot is closed, a system controller inputs a corresponding signal to a CPU. The CPU applies a read-out command of disk information to the disk controller. The disk controller drives a spindle motor, an optical pick-up and a recording head in order to read-out vacant capacity information from the magnetooptical disk. The read-out vacant capacity information is sent back to the CPU, and then saved in a flash memory by the CPU.

  • Publication number: 20010028781
Abstract: A moving image reproducing apparatus includes a CPU mounted with a real-time OS. When a set key is pressed, the CPU executes concurrently a transfer process of compressed image data and sound data from a magneto-optical disk to an SDRAM and a reproduce process of compressed image data and sound data stored in the SDRAM. Herein, the reproduce process includes a process of setting a command of transferring the compressed image data and sound data to an instruction list and a process of outputting the compressed image data and sound data stored in the SDRAM. Meanwhile, the transfer process includes a process of seeking a desired address on the magneto-optical disk by making reference to the instruction list and a process of writing desired data to a desired address in the SDRAM by making reference to the instruct on list.
