  • Patent number: 6835077
Abstract: A card connector having a lock member that engages with a card. It is constructed so that when a card is forcefully removed while in a locked state, neither the card nor the lock member is damaged. When a cutout of the card is engaged by the lock member, a free end portion of the lock member is positioned by a support surface of a housing, thereby preventing outward deformation thereof. If a force is applied to forcefully pull out the card while in this state, an engagement surface of the lock member is pushed by the cutout so that an engagement protrusion elastically deforms in a twisting manner, causing the engagement of the cutout therewith to be released.

  • Patent number: 6629859
Abstract: A shielded connector assembly having an insulating housing having front and rear parts, and female connector parts. Contacts are disposed in the female connector parts. A metal shell is attached to the insulating housing. The metal shell has a specified plate thickness and has grounding tongues that elastically contact mating male connectors that are connected to the female connector parts. A front shell made of metal is externally mounted on the front part of the insulating housing. The front shell has a plate thickness thicker than the metal shell and is fastened to the insulating housing by crimping such that it contacts the metal shell. A metal rear shell is externally mounted on the insulating housing from the rear part of the insulating housing such that the front shell and the rear shell are mechanically and electrically engaged with each other.

  • Patent number: 6604964
Abstract: A board mount type shielded connector assembly comprising an insulating housing having integral tine holding parts. First contacts having first contact parts and first tine parts. Second contacts having second contact parts having a length greater than the first contact parts and disposed alternately in a row with the first contact parts in the insulating housing. The second contacts have second tine parts offset from the first tine parts and positioned substantially adjacent to the first tine parts in a direction perpendicular to the row. A shielding plate having a shielding surface extends in a direction perpendicular to the row and is attached to the insulating housing so that the shielding surface is disposed between the first and second tine parts as a result of the offset of the second tine parts. A metal shell is externally mounted on the insulating housing and positioned to make electrical contact with the shielding plate.
