  • Publication number: 20150345550
Abstract: A non-locating bearing assembly is configured to rotatably support a shaft relative to a housing while permitting relative axial displacement of the shaft relative to the housing. The bearing assembly includes a bearing having inner and outer rings and that is configured for transmitting radial and axial forces, and a bearing support attachable to the housing and including a support section having a partially cylindrical seat surface for receiving one of the inner and outer bearing rings and forming a sliding seat therefor. The sliding seat allows a relative axial displacement between the support section and one of the inner and outer bearing rings. A spring is disposed on or in the bearing support for generating a force in the axial direction between the bearing support and the one of the inner and outer bearing rings, and the spring element is formed from a segment of the bearing support.

Abstract: A bearing assembly comprises at least one bearing element abutting against at least one adjacent part at a contact surface. The bearing assembly can be manufactured by disposing a reactive nano-crystalline layer between the bearing element and the adjacent part in the area of the contact surface and then initiating an exothermic reaction in the reactive nano-crystalline layer, so that the bearing element bonds to the adjacent part in a materially-connected manner. The exothermic reaction involves at least partially heating the surface area of the bearing element and/or of the adjacent part that is located in the area of the contact surface.

  • Publication number: 20100044000
Abstract: The invention concerns a method and a control device for automatically controlling the heat dissipation {dot over (q)} in a mold 200 for casting metal. The heat dissipation of the side plate of a mold is automatically adjusted to a preset set point {dot over (q)}set by suitable variation of the volume flow rate {dot over (V)} of a coolant 300 through the side plate. In accordance with the invention, to avoid the necessity, when different molds are used, of adapting the control of the heat dissipation each time to different thicknesses or coatings of the side plates or to different settings of the side plates during the casting operation or during the casting of different grades of steel, the actual value for the heat dissipation {dot over (q)} during a steady-state casting operation is suitably computed on a current basis from, among other things, the difference in the temperature of the coolant 300 at the coolant outlet and the coolant inlet of the side plate 200 and material constants for the coolant.

  • Patent number: 7284593
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for collecting and evacuating run-off water from the inner arc of the strand guide (8) of a beam blank casting machine, according to which the cast strand (2) is solidified and the required dissipation of heat is achieved, among other things, by sprayed water, whereby run-off water can also collect on the inner arc of the strand (2). The run-off water is collected using a suction head (1). The run-off water that is collected in the suction head is fluidized using fluidizers or momentum inhibitors. The fluidized water is sucked off and the water-air mixture is split into water and air in a separation device. The invention also relates to a device for carrying out said method, comprising at least one suction device that is arranged or can be driven along the strand guide (8), said suction device having an attachable suction head (1) and being equipped with fluidizers. The suction device (4) is driven along the beam blank preliminary section (9) by means of manipulators (7).

  • Patent number: 7103974
Abstract: A process for mounting an outer bearing ring involves press fitting a stamp into the outer ring so that the inner peripheral surface of the outer ring assumes the shape of the stamp. Using the stamp, the outer ring is then press fitted into the recess of a machine part so that the contour of the external peripheral surface of the outer ring is plastically molded through axial stretching into the machine part. To mount an inner ring, a stamp with a bore is press fitted onto the inner ring so that the inner peripheral surface of the inner ring pressing against the stamp assumes the shape of the bore of the stamp. Using the stamp, the inner ring is then press fitted onto the machine part and the contour of the inner peripheral surface of the inner ring is plastically molded through axial flow forming into the machine part.

  • Patent number: 7100370
Abstract: The invention involves a process for controlling the rotational speed of a drive motor during a start-up period, in a drive train, containing at least one starter element that can be coupled to the drive motor, in a rotationally fixed manner, in the form of a hydrodynamic coupling, containing a primary blade wheel and a secondary blade wheel, which form together at least one toroid-shaped working space. According to the invention, the rotational speed of the drive motor is set as a function of the power that can be consumed by the hydrodynamic coupling. The consumable power can be controlled or regulated.

  • Patent number: 6979132
Abstract: A cylindrical roller bearing includes an outer bearing ring, an inner bearing ring and cylindrical rollers located between the outer and inner bearing rings. One of the rings has side rims forming an axial stop for the cylindrical rollers. The bearing ring on which the side rims are not provided is formed with at least one groove outside the axial extension of the cylindrical rollers. A ring of spring-elastic material is positioned in the groove to form an axial stop for the cylindrical rollers. The periphery of the ring has no interruptions.
