Patent number: 6141295Abstract: A display setting arrangement for a timepiece, having a 12-hour display, on which, driven in a rotatable manner by a basic mechanism with two revolutions every 24 hours, the hours can be displayed. There is also a second hour display, which can be driven in a rotatable manner likewise by the basic mechanism. By means of a correction device, the 12-hour display can be adjusted manually relative to the second hour display. The second hour display is a 24-hour display and can be driven in a rotatable manner, in a direct gear train, by the basic mechanism of the time piece with one revolution every twenty-four hours. Via a force-fit connection, a 12-hour gear train can be driven in a rotatable manner, for the purpose of driving the 12-hour display, by a direct-gear-train wheel which is driven with one revolution every twelve hours.Type: GrantFiled: March 26, 1999Date of Patent: October 31, 2000Assignee: IWC International Watch Co. Patent number: 6035964Abstract: A combined device is provided for positioning between the outlet of a gas turbine and a steam generator. The combined device acts as a sound-absorber and as a diffusor and is designated a gas turbine muffler. The gas turbine muffler has an inner zone which widens out in the flow direction S at a relatively large angle. Deflector elements arranged in this inner zone delineate diffusor channels, that are located between adjacent deflector elements. The diffusor channels widen out in each case at a significantly smaller acute angle of less than 7.degree.. In addition to decelerating the stream of gas and hence, in addition, increasing the pressure, the narrow diffusor channels also bring about sound-absorption by reducing the regions of turbulence, making the stream more uniform, and aligning the stream.Type: GrantFiled: January 28, 1999Date of Patent: March 14, 2000Assignee: ALSTOM Energy Systems GmbHInventor: Kurt-Jurgen Lange

Patent number: 4916613Abstract: An arrangement for the control and remote control of a battery driven apparatus is switched on and off upon the approach and withdrawal, respectively, of a user. The arrangement finds particular use in a water-rinsing system, which comprises an electrical adjustment member which can be activated upon the approach of the user. The apparatus transmits infrared detection pulses which are received again after reflection by the user. In response to the reflected pulses a control circuit (2) interrogates the measured charge state of the battery, conditions the adjustment member (7) to be switched on only if the battery (5) has a charge state such that the adjustment member can be switched off again, and transmits infrared state pulses instead of the detection pulses. The state pulses contain information about the charge state of the battery and can be received by an additional remotely located infrared reception unit (12) for evaluation.Type: GrantFiled: October 13, 1988Date of Patent: April 10, 1990Assignee: U.S. Philips CorporationInventors: Jurgen Lange, Ralph A. Patent number: 4790595Abstract: Chair having seat and back parts capable of springy tilting relative to each other. The seat and back parts are provided in the region where they join each other with a reduced width to intensify the relative tilting thereof. Longitudinal slots are also provided in the seat and extend from the region of reduced width to further intensify this relative tilting. The chair frame is provided with fastening elements in the region of the front edge of the seat for tilting attachment of seat and back.Type: GrantFiled: April 21, 1987Date of Patent: December 13, 1988Assignee: Mauser Waldeck AGInventors: Willi Hensel, Jurgen Lange, Reinhard Paulus

Patent number: 4725003Abstract: An electrically actuatable fuel-injection valve for internal combustion engines has a piezoelectric vibrator (1) provided with electrodes (2, 3). A fuel-receiving chamber (4) in the vibrator is in fuel-conducting communication with a fuel feed path (constriction 5) and an ejection opening (outlet opening). The fuel feed path as well as the ejection opening are so shaped that upon the application of a voltage to the electrodes (2, 3) the fuel is imparted a preferred movement (8) through the chamber to the ejection opening.Type: GrantFiled: May 9, 1986Date of Patent: February 16, 1988Assignee: VDO Adolf Schindling AGInventor: Jurgen Lange

Patent number: 4711396Abstract: In an electrically actuatable fuel-injection valve for internal combustion engines, a piezoelectric oscillator (radial oscillator 11) which is provided with electrodes has at least one fuel-receiving chamber (12). The chamber (12) is in communication with the fuel feed path (constant-volume chamber 20) and an ejection opening (bore 17). The oscillator (11) is mounted in a block (18) out of which the fuel feed path (constant-volume chamber 20) is also formed. Furthermore, a high-voltage generator (35) is located, electrically shielded from the outside, within the block (18), which consists of metal. The high-voltage generator is connected to the electrodes of the piezoelectric oscillator (11) via feed lines (14, 15) which are conducted within the block (18).Type: GrantFiled: May 9, 1986Date of Patent: December 8, 1987Assignee: VDO Adolf Schindling AGInventor: Jurgen Lange

Patent number: 4709183Abstract: In a linear motor having a rotor and a stator, the rotor comprises two rotor elements which can be clamped in the stator by means of clamping elements as a function in each case of a signal which is fed and which are connected by at least one piezoelectric element (actuator element) by which the distance apart of the rotor elements can be varied as a function of a control signal which is fed. By the application of an electric voltage there takes place in each case an expansion of the clamping elements transverse to the direction of movement and an expansion of the actuator element in the direction of movement. One particularly advantageous embodiment resides in the fact that the rotor is developed in a flat shape and that the rotor elements contain the clamping elements in a frame-like holder, at least one side of the frame-like holder being movable with respect to the other sides.Type: GrantFiled: May 7, 1986Date of Patent: November 24, 1987Assignee: VDO Adolf Schindling AGInventor: Jurgen Lange

Patent number: 4697738Abstract: An electrically actuatable fuel-injection valve for internal combustion engines has a piezoelectric hollow-cylindrical radial vibrator (11) within the wall (30) of which a number of continuous fuel-receiving chambers (12, 12') are arranged parallel and concentric to a longitudinal axis (19) of the radial vibrator. Each of the chambers (12, 12') is in communication at one open end with a fuel feed path and at its other open end has an ejection opening in the form of a bore (27, 27'). A passage line (passage bore 29) for a stream of air which conducts at least a part of the stream of intake air is conducted through the radial vibrator (11) concentrically to the longitudinal axis of the radial vibrator. The passage line terminates, open, approximately at the level of the injection openings.Type: GrantFiled: May 9, 1986Date of Patent: October 6, 1987Assignee: VDO Adolf Schindling AGInventor: Jurgen Lange
