  • Patent number: 6388266
Abstract: A device for read-out and erasing information from storage sheets which are located in a cassette. The device includes a cassette holder, means for opening the cassette, a scanner for read-out the stored information, an erasing device for erasing the stored information and a transport device which transports the storage sheet past the scanner and the erasing device. According to the invention, the erasing device is provided between the cassette holder and the scanner.

  • Patent number: 6369402
Abstract: A device (1) and a method for reading information stored in a phosphor layer (10) is disclosed. The device (1) includes a transparent carrier material (9) on which the phosphor layer (10) to be read is disposed. A radiation source (2) emits an excitation radiation (20) to excite the phosphor layer (10), which in turn emits an emission radiation (26). The emission radiation (26) can be received by a receiver (3). The radiation source (2) is arranged on one side of the transparent carrier material (9), whereas the receiver (3) is arranged on the other side of the transparent carrier material (9), thereby defining an optical path between the radiation source (2) and the receiver (3). According to the invention, a reflective layer (21, 22; 30, 31, 32) for reflecting at least a portion of the excitation radiation (20) is arranged in the optical path.

  • Patent number: 6262906
Abstract: An air-cooled power converter with gate turn-off power semiconductors, is described in which the cooling capacity is such that the temperature of the gate turn-off power semiconductor does not exceed a critical temperature limit, the power converter having optimized heat sinks, at least some of which are thermally connected in parallel, and the power converter is designed to operate at a continuous load of 1 to 20 megawatts, preferably of 2 to 10 megawatts.

  • Patent number: 6208635
Abstract: A network for transferring data packets has at least two basic networks, each with a central station and a limited number of user stations. The respective central station connects the associated basic network to other basic networks. The data packets are transferred over a set of channels with the frequency-hopping method and the channels are in this context selected for data transfer in accordance with at least one frequency-hopping pattern in temporal succession. A separate frequency-hopping pattern that is orthogonal to the frequency-hopping patterns of immediately adjacent basic networks is processed in each basic network.

  • Patent number: 5228210
Abstract: A method of drying a developed, wet sheet carrier, especially an X-ray film after passing through a development device includes passing the sheet carrier through a dryer which has several infrared radiators arranged along the path of the sheet carrier at its both sides and reflectors provided at the side away from the sheet carrier and deflecting the infrared radiator to the facing side of the sheet carrier. The method is performed so that a main stream is supplied at both sides of the sheet carrier at the rear side of the reflectors, a partial air stream is supplied between each infrared radiator and the sheet carrier, and then each partial air stream is united with the main air stream so that the temperature and the moisture of the main air stream increases in a flow direction.
