  • Publication number: 20190113337
Abstract: Aspects are generally directed to multi-sensor boresight alignment methods and systems for a multi-spectral reimaging optical system. In one example, a multi-sensor boresight alignment system includes a system interface to receive a first image frame from a first sensor and a second image frame from a second sensor, the first image frame having a contrast within a first spectral band and including a first image of a plate having a pattern of apertures, and the second image frame having a contrast within a second spectral band and including a second image of the plate. The system includes a field programmable gate array (FPGA) coupled to the system interface, the FPGA configured to spot track each image frame to identify a corresponding centroid of the pattern of apertures and correct an optical alignment between the first and second sensors based on a position of the corresponding centroids.

  • Patent number: 9944375
Abstract: A system for controlling trim position of a marine propulsion device on a marine vessel includes a trim actuator having a first end configured to couple to the marine propulsion device and a second end configured to couple to the marine vessel. A controller controls position of the trim actuator between an extended position wherein the propulsion device is trimmed up with respect to the vessel and a retracted position wherein the propulsion device is trimmed down with respect to the vessel. A shock relief mechanism overrides position control by the controller and allows extension of the trim actuator upon the occurrence of an overpressure event. An arresting mechanism, when activated, prevents extension of the trim actuator beyond a certain limit. The controller selectively activates the arresting mechanism in response to a determination that the propulsion device is being commanded in reverse. Methods for controlling trim position are also included.

  • Patent number: 9463859
Abstract: An outboard motor adapter plate couples a marine engine to a driveshaft housing, and includes an upper rim configured to be coupled to a lower surface of a cylinder block of the engine. A lower rim of the adapter plate is configured to be coupled to an upper surface of a sump located in the driveshaft housing. A wall defines a passageway having an inner perimetral surface, and the inner perimetral surface extends from the upper rim to the lower rim. A mounting area is configured for coupling a mount to the adapter plate. A shield covers at least a portion of the inner perimetral surface adjacent the mounting area, so as to at least partially thermally isolate the mount from heated fluid that drains from the cylinder block, through the passageway, and into the sump. A method and a shield for thermal isolation are also described.

  • Patent number: 9391866
Abstract: A method of maintaining server performance comprises receiving, at an analysis server, server performance metrics from at least one monitored server, wherein server performance metrics comprise information about processor usage, memory usage, and network activity and comparing the received metrics with a baseline of values that was established for the server performance metrics based on a variance analysis of historical values. The method further comprises determining that the value of at least one server performance metric of the monitored server is consistently above an upper limit of a range of acceptable deviation from the baseline, analyzing historical occurrences of similar departures of server performance metrics from the range of acceptable deviation, and generating an alert indicating that a risk pattern has been identified and suggesting shutting down a locked process on the monitored server in order to return the server performance metrics to values within the range of acceptable deviation.
