  • Patent number: 9120007
Abstract: A gaming system, a network gaming architecture, and related methods are disclosed that provides game content to server-based gaming platforms. Players access game content and place wagers on through a client server. The client server may act as a thin client to the gaming platform such that the client server establishes the communication link to a remote gaming engine that performs game play processing. The gaming system includes the remote gaming engine, which may comprise a game rules server configured to administer a set of game rules for the wagering game, and a deck server that randomly selects game pieces according to the set of game rules. A network gaming architecture includes separating functions that require regulation on one set of regulated servers, and functions that do not require regulation on at least one unregulated server.

  • Publication number: 20150052269
Abstract: Embodiments of methods that are useful to avoid overflow in fixed-length buffers. In one embodiment, the methods dynamically adjust parameters (e.g., sample time) and reconfigure data in the buffer to allow new data samples to fit in the buffer. These embodiments allow data collection to automatically adapt, e.g., by adjusting the sample rate to allow the data to fit in the limited buffer size. These embodiments can configure hardware and/or software on a valve positioner of a valve assembly to improve data collection for use in on-line valve diagnostics and other data processing techniques.

  • Patent number: 8946188
Abstract: Many pathogens, including Mycobacterium tuberculosis and Yersinia pestis, rely on an iron acquisition system based on siderophores, secreted iron-chelating compounds with extremely high Fe(III) affinity. The compounds of the invention are inhibitors of domain salicylation enzymes, which catalyze the salicylation of an aroyl carrier protein (ArCP) domain to form a salicyl-ArCP domain thioester intermediate via a two-step reaction. The compounds include the intermediate mimic 5?-O—[N-(salicyl)sulfamoyl]-adenosine (salicyl-AMS) and analogs thereof. These compounds are inhibitors of the salicylate activity of MbtA, YbtE, PchD, and other domain salicylation enzymes involved in the biosynthesis of siderophores. Therefore, these compounds may be used in the treatment of infection caused by microorganisms which rely on siderphore-based iron acquisition systems.

  • Publication number: 20140275926
Abstract: Systems, devices and methods are provided for neuromonitoring, particularly neuromonitoring to reduce the risks of contacting or damaging nerves or causing patient discomfort during and after surgical procedures, including spinal surgeries. The neuromonitoring procedures include monitoring for the presence of or damage to sensory nerves, and optionally includes additional monitoring for motor nerves. In some systems, including systems that monitor for both sensory and motor nerves, components of the monitoring systems (e.g., stimulating electrodes and response sensors), may be combined with one or more surgical instruments. The systems, devices, and methods provide for pre-surgical assessment of neural anatomy and surgical planning, intraoperative monitoring of nerve condition, and post-operative assessment of nerve position and health.

  • Publication number: 20140121555
Abstract: Systems, devices, and methods are described for neuromonitoring. In certain embodiments, a signal includes components of a neuromuscular response detected by a sensor attached to a muscle in communication with a nerve being monitored in connection with a surgical procedure. A first component of the neuromuscular response corresponding to a first time period and a second component of the neuromuscular response corresponding to the first time period are extracted from the output signal, wherein the first and second components are different. A first display device and a second display device are configured to display the first component and the second component, respectively, in a substantially simultaneous fashion during the surgical procedure.

  • Patent number: 8605589
Abstract: Methods and apparatuses, including computer program products, are described for applying service based on classification and grouping of traffic flows. The method includes receiving a traffic flow, and matching the traffic flow to classification groups. The matching includes determining a first event associated with the traffic flow, comparing attributes of the first event with entry criteria of the classification groups, and assigning the first event to one or more classification groups where the first event meets the entry criteria of the one or more classification groups. The method includes identifying one or more service definitions for the traffic flow based on the classification groups assigned to the traffic flow, reconciling the one or more service definitions for the traffic flow, and providing a service to the traffic flow based on the reconciled service definitions.
