A combination of image type identification and image quality metrics may be used to identify one or more images in the set as keeper images. Image type identification may be used to categorize the captured images into, for example, three or more categories. The categories may include portrait, action, or “other.” Depending on the category identified, the images may be analyzed differently to identify keeper images. For portrait images, an operation may be used to identify the best set of faces. For action images, the set may be divided into sections such that keeper images selected from each section tell the story of the action. For the “other” category, the images may be analyzed such that those having higher quality metrics for an identified region of interest are selected.

    Abstract: A surface shape determination system includes a surface shape sensor in the form of a flexible and stretchable elastomeric substrate with strain/displacement sensing elements embedded in it. The sensor may be a single-core optical fiber with a series of fiber Bragg Gratings (FBGs) located at predetermined positions along its length. A light source provides an incident light spectrum at one end of the fiber. Each grating of the fiber has index modulation which causes particular wavelengths of the light spectrum that do not satisfy the Bragg condition to be reflected back in the fiber. The refractive index of each grating changes with strain on the substrate due to deflection of it. An interrogator captures the reflected wavelengths and retrieves signal information therefrom. A processor receives the output of the interrogator and performs non-linear regression analysis on the information using a neural network to reconstruct the surface morphology in real-time.

A separating blade associated with the de-powdering subsystem is configured to be inserted through the elongated aperture and into the powder print bed between a top-most print bed layer of the nested objects and a second print bed layer directly below and contiguous with the top-most layer, thereby forming an isolated powder print bed between the separating blade and the build box top. The unbound powder may be agitated by various techniques and subsequently removed from the objects.

Columns of data sets to be blended may be linked together. Filters may be applied to data sets before the data blend operation is performed to specify which columns to be displayed in a visualization at a client interface. A direct filter may be applied to one of the data sets to obtain a filtered resulting data set. Data elements of the filtered resulting data set can be identified that correspond to the linked columns of the data sets to be blended. The results of applying the direct filter may then be used as the filtering criteria for an indirect filter to filter a second data set. The results of applying the direct and indirect filters may then be combined together in the data blending operation.
