    Abstract: Microarray analysis, confirmed by RT-PCT, demonstrated that mRNA derived from cancerous tissues hybridized specifically and preferentially to human nectin 4, semaphorin 4b, IgSF9, and KIAA0152. Microarray analysis also demonstrated that RNA from malignant bladder, pancreas, and stomach tissue hybridized specifically to human nectin 4, semaphorin 4b, IgSF9, and KIAA0152, all of which are transmembrane proteins that provide a therapeutic target for treating cancer. Modulators of nectin 4, semaphorin 4b, IgSF9, and KIAA0152 are provided for the diagnosis and treatment of proliferative disorders such as cancer and psoriasis. The invention further provides methods of treating cancer with therapeutic agents directed toward nectin 4, semaphorin 4b, IgSF9, and KIAA0152.

    Abstract: A processing system and method. The processing system includes a processing tool, an electrostatic chuck (ESC) arranged within the processing tool, and a system that at least one of detects at least one of an ESC bias spike and an ESC current spike of the ESC and determines when an ESC bias voltage is zero or exceeds a threshold value. The method includes at least one of detecting at least one of an ESC bias spike and an ESC current spike of the ESC, and determining when an ESC bias voltage is zero or exceeds a threshold value. The system and method can be used in real time ESC and plasma processing diagnostics to minimize yield loss and wafer scrap.

    Abstract: The invention provides FGFR fusion proteins, methods of making them, and methods of using them to treat proliferative disorders, including cancers and disorders of angiogenesis. The FGFR fusion molecules can be made in CHO cells and may comprise deletion mutations in the extracellular domains of the FGFRs which improve their stability. These fusion proteins inhibit the growth and viability of cancer cells in vitro and in vivo. The combination of the relatively high affinity of these receptors for their ligand FGFs and the demonstrated ability of these decoy receptors to inhibit tumor growth is an indication of the clinical value of the compositions and methods provided herein.

    Abstract: Disclosed is a method and system for detecting abnormal plasma discharge that is useful in, for example, detecting plasma leakage in a reactive ion etching (RIE) chamber. The system includes electrical contacts connected to the chamber that provide an input signal to the chamber. This input signal can be generated by a radio frequency (RF) generator that is connected to the electrical contacts. A variable power controller connected to the RF generator gradually increases (ramps) the power of the input signal being supplied to the chamber.

    Abstract: A method of manufacturing and inspecting SOI such that during STI formation, by depositing a light absorbing layer in the STI such as hydrosilicon oxynitride, the silicon inclusions in the buried insulator layer of the SOI are undetectable by an optical inspection. The reduction in background effects allows for improved optical inspection of SOI wafers without having to discriminate against defects created by SOI formation. A method of manufacturing and inspecting semiconductor devices is disclosed wherein deposition of a light absorbing layer, such as hydrosilicon oxynitride, prevents defects occurring prior to deposition from being optically inspectable and those defects created during the most recent processing can be easily distinguished. Also disclosed are an optically inspectable semiconductor device and an optically inspectable semiconductor device having an STI.
