  • Patent number: 11138902
Abstract: An incident simulation system supports an incident exercise in a virtual environment. The incident simulation system accesses a simulation plan defining an incident within a theater of operation. The incident simulation system simulates the incident exercise by displaying, to a participant in the incident exercise, images representing what the participant would see within the theater of operation as the participant moves within the theater of operation. The incident simulation system further simulates the incident by generating incident data indicating effects of the incident at target locations and at target times as the participant moves within the theater of operation. The incident simulation system further simulates the incident by displaying to the participant images representing the user experience that a detector would provide based on the generated incident data.

  • Publication number: 20210239193
Abstract: A chain guide and tensioning apparatus is disclosed that is configured for engagement (contact) with a driven chain (e.g., in an automotive engine). The chain guide and tensioning apparatus includes a guide body and a guide face overlying the guide body. The guide face defines an inner surface and an opposite outer surface that is configured to guide and tension the driven chain. The guide face includes a plurality of spacers that extend therefrom into engagement (contact) with the guide body so as to define at least one channel that is configured to facilitate air and/or lubricant circulation between the guide body and the guide face to reduce heat and friction generated by engagement of the driven chain with the guide face.

  • Patent number: 11051711
Abstract: A plurality of stimulations is transmitted to tissue or other material using one or more transmitters. The plurality of signals associated with the excited tissue and the transmitted stimulations are measured. The measured signals are processed to generate field-related quantities, such as B1+ and/or MR signal maps. Field-related quantities are generated also from simulation, by calculating the one or more incident fields from a simulator model of the one or more transmitters and assuming a given distribution of electrical properties in the tissue or other material. Field-related quantities generated from simulation and experimental procedures are compared to each other. The assumed electrical properties distribution is updated and the procedure is repeated iteratively until the difference between simulated and experimental field-related quantities is smaller than a threshold.

  • Patent number: 11039918
Abstract: A prosthetic heart valve includes a frame, a valve component, and a skirt. The frame has first and second end portions, a central longitudinal axis extending between the first and second end portions, and a plurality of struts interconnected by a plurality of joints. The joints comprise a rotational axis perpendicular to the longitudinal axis. The frame is movable between an expanded configuration and a compressed configuration. The struts comprise diagonal struts relative to the longitudinal axis when the frame is in the expanded configuration. The valve component has a plurality of leaflets. Adjacent leaflets are attached together and to the frame at commissures of the frame. The leaflets extend from the commissures in a triangular configuration and are attached to adjacent diagonal struts of the frame. The skirt is configured for reducing paravalvular leakage and attached to the diagonal struts of the frame to which the leaflets are attached.

  • Publication number: 20210132148
Abstract: A technique for non-invasively assessing current drawn by a device under test (DUT) by monitoring a supply voltage to the DUT. Frequency data for the DUT may be generated and used to form a current estimation model. First and second voltages are simultaneously measured using first and second test probes electrically connected to the DUT, while the first test probe is connected at a current source, and while the second test probe is connected at a DUT load that is configured to draw current from the current source. The current drawn by the DUT is then assessed by applying the current estimation model to the measured first and second voltages. In one case, the current drawn by the DUT is estimated without insertion of a circuit component into the DUT or extraction of a circuit conductor from the DUT.

  • Publication number: 20200170812
Abstract: A prosthetic heart valve includes a frame, a valve component, and an actuation mechanism. The frame has a plurality of struts interconnected by a plurality of joints and is movable between expanded and compressed configurations. The valve component is inside the frame and has a plurality of leaflets. The actuation mechanism has a first expansion element coupled to the frame at a first location and a second expansion element coupled to the frame at a second location. The actuation mechanism is configured such that moving the first expansion element and the second expansion element toward each other in a first direction results in the frame moving from the compressed configuration to the expanded configuration, and such that moving the first expansion element and the second expansion element away from each other in a second direction results in the frame moving from the expanded configuration to the compressed configuration.

  • Patent number: 10565325
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for simulating an electrical characteristic of an electronic device having input ports and output ports. A device frequency response data structure is accessed that contains data associated with a plurality of port-to-port frequency responses of the electronic device, each port-to-port frequency response being associated with a plurality of frequencies. A QR decomposition is performed based on data from the frequency response data structure. A subset of the port-to-port frequency responses is selected based on the QR decomposition. A set of common poles is identified using the selected subset of port-to-port frequency responses, and a model of time domain behavior of the electronic device is generated using the set of common poles.

  • Patent number: 10311177
Abstract: A model synthesizer generates a state-space model of a structure from frequency domain parameters of the structure using a selected number of significant eigenvalues of a matrix derived from the frequency-domain parameters such that the quality of the fit of the model is improved. A matrix of the frequency-domain parameters is reshaped so as to improve performance of determination of the fit quality. Passivity violations in the model can be removed via regularization and error control such that the fit quality of the model after removal of the passivity violations is within a specified tolerance. Cholesky factorization can improve the performance of passivity violation detection. This Abstract is provided for the sole purpose of complying with the Abstract requirement rules. This Abstract is submitted with the explicit understanding that it will not be used to interpret or to limit the scope or the meaning of the claims.

  • Patent number: 10292842
Abstract: An endoluminal support structure includes strut members interconnected by swivel joints to form a series of linked scissor mechanisms. The structure can be remotely actuated to compress or expand its shape by adjusting the scissor joints within a range of motion. In particular, the support structure can be repositioned within the body lumen or retrieved from the lumen. The support structure can be employed to introduce and support a prosthetic valve within a body lumen.

  • Publication number: 20190100661
Abstract: In one embodiment, ground mineral wool is added to conventional polyurethane composition A or B to improve fire or flame resistant properties. In a second embodiment, a larger percentage of ground mineral wool is used in combination with a higher water concentration in order to substantially reduce the hydrocarbon content of the resulting foam. In a third embodiment, a foam composition is substantially re-formulated to reduce polyol concentration. Preliminary testing has suggested that it is possible to create an effective foam-like insulation without requiring the “foam” components to have a high polyol concentration.
