Abstract: A task scheduler for a TC subsystem is disclosed. The task scheduler is responsible for responding to computation block requests from the TC subsystem, and retrieving/storing data objects for such computation blocks. The task scheduler thus facilitates a type of logical pipeline by exchanging such data objects with a common TC memory used by each computation block. The task scheduler generally includes a queue, a state machine and a bus master for satisfying the data object requests.

Abstract: An e-fuse and an e-fuse control circuit are provided. The e-fuse includes a polysilicon layer and a metal silicide layer stacked on the polysilicon layer. The e-fuse operates in an open state when the silicide layer is broken by burning while one portion of the polysilicon layer is exposed.

Abstract: A touch sensing device capable of accurately detecting a touched position on a touch panel includes a touch panel, a conversion unit and a calculation unit. The touch panel having a plurality of horizontal sensing lines and vertical sensing lines generates a plurality of horizontal sensing signals and vertical sensing signals in response to a touch on the touch panel. The conversion unit generates a plurality of two-dimensional (2D) sensing signals according to the horizontal and vertical sensing signals. The calculation unit determines a touched position on the touch panel according to the 2D sensing signals.

Abstract: A charge pump circuit includes a first voltage supply circuit configured to provide a first supply voltage in response to a first and second input signals. A first capacitor is coupled to the first voltage supply circuit. A first switch circuit is configured to provide a second supply voltage to a second terminal of the first capacitor in response to a first control signal. A second switch circuit is coupled to the second terminal of the first capacitor. A second capacitor is coupled to the second switch circuit. The second switch circuit is configured to cause charge transfer from the first capacitor to the second capacitor in response to a second control signal. The charge pump also includes an output terminal coupled to the second capacitor to provide an output voltage, the output voltage being higher than the first supply voltage, the output voltage being also higher than the second supply voltage.

Abstract: The invention provides a compound and method of producing the same. The method of the invention includes the following steps. First of all, Polycaprolactone (PCL), dimethylol propionic acid (DMPA), 4,4?-methylenebis (cyclohexyl isocyanate) (H12MDI), and dibutyltin dilaurate (DBT) are mixed in a solvent in the first place and a solution is formed. This solution is then mixed with triethylamine (TEA) and triethylene tetramine (TETA). After that, amino-terminated anionic waterborne polyurethane (WPU) is produced. A sol-gel process is proceeded with a mixture of amino-terminated anionic waterborne polyurethane, tetraethylorthosilicate (TEOS) without any extra catalyst, and a compound, waterborne polyurethane-silica nanocomposite materials, is eventually produced.

Abstract: A design method of batch falling strand devolatilizers is disclosed. The method includes following steps. Firstly, construct a database that contains data of batch falling strand devolatilizer vs. devolatilization of at least one kind of polymer. Then data in the database is substituted into a mass balance difference equation to get a backmixing parameter. When the backmixing parameter is zero or is approaching zero, a liquid diffusion stage efficiency equation having a film equation or a pool equation is integrated with the mass balance difference equation to get a devolatilization process efficiency equation. By means of a theoretical value of the backmixing parameter, a theoretical value of the process efficiency from calculation of the devolatilization process efficiency equation approaches the value of the process efficiency.

Abstract: A communication apparatus with a network multimedia playback function includes a network dialup module, a multimedia module and a communication exchange module. The network dialup module can receive an electronic signal from a regular telephone wire and analyze the electronic signal to obtain an analog network packet or an audio/video packet, and processes the analog network packet into a network data and sends the network data to a computer. The multimedia module receives the audio/video packet from the network dialup module, and processes the audio/video packet into an audio/video data and sends the audio/video data to a display apparatus. The communication exchange module is provided with a voice splitter that analyzes the electronic signal to obtain a voice signal of low frequency and sends it to the communication exchange module. Thus, the communication apparatus provides the functions of a network connection, a multimedia playback, and a dialing of Internet phone.

Abstract: An improved type of application-specific integrated circuit block (ASIC) is disclosed that is optimized for use in a communications system, and is somewhat programmble through the use of particular data objects that can specify an instruction and operand for the ASIC. The ASIC can be multi-tasking to perform multiple receive or transmit operations, two different kinds of transmit or receive operations, and operaions for mulitple ports. The ASIC generally uses an input data decoder block for decoding an input data object; a computation logic block for performing application specific computations in connection with the input data object, and an output data encoder block for encoding an output data object based on the specific computations. Using a common memory, a set of such ASICs can be arranged in a form of logical (or logical hybrid) pipeline.

Abstract: This invention discloses a method of protecting copyright of a digital video work by using a digital password technology and a digital watermark technology to prevent the unauthorized use of a digital video work. Such method adds password protection of two chrominance arrays of such video work in advance, so that when such video work is published on the Internet, it can only be played in color by a specified player. As long as a user enters the correct password into the specified player, a full color visual effect of such video work can be obtained. If other players are used to play such video work, only a partial gray-scale visual effect can be obtained. Users must request or buy a specific player and a password from the distributor of such video work to play the complete information to prevent piracy.

Abstract: Techniques for ESD protection are provided. An ESD protection device includes a first well region and a second well region disposed in a semiconductor substrate, with an isolation region therebetween. N+ implant regions are disposed in the second well region and are coupled in common at a first node. NLDD regions are disposed between the N+ implant regions, and pocket implants underlie each of the NLDD regions. Current discharge paths are defined by corresponding NLDD regions and pocket implants when a voltage of the first node exceeds a breakdown voltage. In a specific embodiment, the breakdown voltage is less than a breakdown voltage for a logic gate oxide.

Abstract: The present invention discloses a set top box for playing Web TV. The set top box includes a control unit, a network transmission interface, a data transmission interface, and a first interface. The set top box can be connected to a multimedia player through the first interface, such that a multimedia processing unit of the multimedia player can control the control unit and the multimedia processing unit to decode audio/video signals transmitted from the network transmission interface and the data transmitter, and output images and sounds. Therefore, through the multimedia processing unit of the multimedia player, the set top box is able to play Web TV. The invention also discloses a multimedia player, a system capable of playing Web TV, and a method of integrating the set top box and multimedia player for playing Web TV.

Abstract: A physical medium dependent (PMD) transport subsystem is disclosed which is used in an xDSL communication system. The PMD subsystem coordinates movement of data from an analog front end to a logical pipeline based TC layer, and exchanges common data objects with the latter to increase flexibility of the system. The PMD subsystem includes a number of ASIC blocks for performing signal processing operations, and these ASIC blocks are also shared between ports and are multi-tasking to reduce hardware costs.
