    Abstract: In various examples, to support training a deep neural network (DNN) to predict a dense representation of a 3D surface structure of interest, a training dataset is generated using a parametric mathematical modeling. A variety of synthetic 3D road surfaces may be generated by modeling a 3D road surface using varied parameters to simulate changes in road direction and lateral surface slope. In an example embodiment, a synthetic 3D road surface may be created by modeling a longitudinal 3D curve and expanding the longitudinal 3D curve to a 3D surface, and the resulting synthetic 3D surface may be sampled to form a synthetic ground truth projection image (e.g., a 2D height map). To generate corresponding input training data, a known pattern that represents which pixels may remain unobserved during 3D structure estimation may be generated and applied to a ground truth projection image to simulate a corresponding sparse projection image.

    Abstract: A torque security system for a vehicle is provided. The system receives a signal from a sensor coupled to a motor shaft of an electric motor and determines an acceleration of the electric motor, based on the signal from the sensor that indicates an amount of rotation of the motor shaft. The system determines an internal torque between the motor shaft and an input gear coupled to the motor shaft, based on the acceleration of the electric motor and an inertia of the electric motor and a gearbox. The powertrain of the vehicle comprises the gearbox and the electric motor, and the input gear couples the electric motor to the gearbox. The system determines whether the internal torque exceeds a threshold torque, and in response to determining that the internal torque exceeds the threshold torque, the system reduces power output to the electric motor. The system also diagnoses the health of the gearbox.

    Abstract: A method for generating an image of an object with a magnetic resonance imaging (MM) system is presented. The method includes first performing a calibration scan of the object. The calibration scan is performed with a zero echo time (ZTE) radial sampling scheme to obtain calibration k-spaces for surface coil elements and a body coil of the MRI system. The calibration scan is performed in such a manner that the endpoints of calibration k-space lines in each calibration k-space follow a spiral path. A plurality of calibration parameters are then obtained from the plurality of calibration k-spaces. A second scan of the object is then performed to acquire the MR image data. The image of the object is then generated based on the plurality of calibration parameters and the MR image data.

In response to receiving input to engage speed control mode and receiving an accelerator pedal input, the system determines a target wheel speed based on the accelerator pedal input, monitors wheel speed of each of a plurality of wheels and determines, for each monitored wheel, a difference based on the monitored wheel speed and the target wheel speed. A torque is provided to each of the plurality of wheels based on the respective difference to achieve the target wheel speed.

The chirp up/down converter performs conversion from an oscillation signal generated by the SILO to a frequency-modulated continuous wave (FMCW) signal to detect an area and from a received FMCW signal reflected from the area to an injection signal, while the SILO is injected with the injection signal to enter a self-injection-locked state. The locations and vital signs of multiple subjects are extracted from the oscillation signal using the frequency demodulator and the multiple-target vital sign processor. The objective of using the SILO is to improve the sensitivity of the FMCW detection process so as to more effectively distinguish the vital signs of multiple subjects at different locations.
