  • Patent number: 11582071
Abstract: Techniques and devices for wireless communications are described that provide for staggering sounding reference signal (SRS) transmissions in frequency across multiple orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) symbols, which may allow multiple UEs to transmit SRS using a common listen-before-talk (LBT) gap for a LBT procedure. The techniques also provide for transmitting an SRS across multiple OFDM symbols using same frequency resources, and an orthogonal cover code (OCC) may be applied to the SRS transmission of each OFDM symbol, which may allow multiple UEs to transmit concurrent SRS using a common LBT gap.

  • Publication number: 20230032957
Abstract: Wireless communications systems and methods related monitoring the start of a transmission opportunity (TXOP) in unlicensed or shared frequency bands are provided. In one embodiment, a first wireless communication device communicates, with a second wireless communication device, a first configuration including a set of first control channel monitoring periods outside of a TXOP. The first wireless communication device communicates, with the second wireless communication device, a communication signal during the TXOP based on a second control channel monitoring period longer than each of the first control channel monitoring periods. In one embodiment, a first wireless communication device communicates, with a second wireless communication device, a configuration including a first search space for a control channel monitoring outside of a TXOP and a second search space for a control channel monitoring within the TXOP, the second search space being partially-overlapped with the first search space.

  • Patent number: 11570815
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may rate match an uplink transmission around a set of resources reserved by a base station. The base station may indicate a set of reserved resources which overlaps an uplink resource allocation to the UE. The base station may transmit an indicator of the reserved resources, and the UE may identify a location of a clear channel assessment (CCA) gap in a symbol period relative to the reserved resources. By rate matching around the reserved resources and one or more CCA gaps, the UE may transmit uplink information despite the allocated uplink resources colliding with the reserved resources.

  • Publication number: 20220408494
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may indicate support of an extended cyclic prefix (ECP), where a duration of the ECP or transmitting the ECP is based on the indication. In some cases, the UE may receive an uplink grant to transmit an uplink message with an indication of the ECP, and the UE may transmit the ECP and uplink message according to a timeline based in part on the ECP. Additionally or alternatively, an uplink channel allocation indicated in the uplink grant may include a starting point for the ECP, where the UE transmits the ECP at the starting point. In some cases, the UE may multiplex uplink control information (UCI) in the uplink channel based on a timeline that is based in part on the ECP.

  • Patent number: 11533201
Abstract: Enhanced transmission opportunities are disclosed for sounding reference signals (SRS). The enhancements may provide more flexibility in scheduling SRS transmission and more SRS transmission opportunities. An additional offset may be defined and dynamically communicated to a user equipment (UE) to use either to override or in additional to a semi-statically communicated standard offset when scheduling the SRS transmission opportunity based on an SRS trigger slot or another granted slot. The UE may further treat each combination of timing information as a separate SRS opportunity or may define a window between two signaled timing offsets within which the UE may attempt SRS transmissions.

  • Publication number: 20220394762
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. The described techniques provide for various ways that abase station and a UE may resume uplink communications when a cyclic prefix extension does not occupy (“fill”) the gap between a downlink communication and an uplink communication. The techniques by the UE include performing an early LBT procedure (e.g., during the allocated downlink resources), puncturing the uplink resources, transmitting a reference signal to fill in a one symbol gap, and performing the UL transmission one symbol early. The techniques by the base station include including a cyclic postfix on the downlink (DL) channel to occupy the additional space and performing scheduling techniques to avoid case where a CPE may not fill the symbol periods between the downlink and uplink communication resources.

  • Publication number: 20220393845
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described where a system bandwidth within a shared radio frequency spectrum band may be divided into multiple sub-bands. A base station may use a fallback downlink control information format to provide a resource grant to a user equipment, where the fallback downlink control information has a predetermined number of bits. To provide an indication of one or more of the sub-bands that are to be used for uplink communications when using fallback downlink control information, an explicit or implicit indication may be provided. Such sub-band indication may allow for the user equipment to use a particular sub-band that is available for transmissions in a shared radio frequency spectrum band. Indications of one or more sub-bands may be provided explicitly by a sub-band indication field in a fallback downlink control information, or implicitly by one or more downlink transmissions of a base station.

  • Publication number: 20220386373
Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide improved techniques for monitoring a downlink control channel. For example, a method includes switching, at a first time period, to monitoring a downlink control channel according to a second group of search space sets in an unlicensed spectrum. The method further includes switching, after the first time period, to monitoring the downlink control channel according to a first group of search space sets in the unlicensed spectrum based on at least one of: i) expiration of a timer started based on the switching to monitoring the downlink control channel according to the second group of search space sets; or (ii) end of a channel occupancy time (COT), of a serving cell, during which the UE monitors the downlink control channel according to the second group of search space sets.

  • Publication number: 20220386362
Abstract: Wireless communications systems and methods related to communications in a network that supports transmission of uplink control information (UCI) data are provided. A user equipment (UE) may determine that a physical uplink control channel (PUCCH) transmission in a time period overlaps with a configured grant resource. The PUCCH transmission may include first UCI including a first number of parts. The UE may determine whether to transmit only the first UCI in a PUCCH resource or to remove at least one part included in the first number of parts and transmit the remaining parts of the first UCI multiplexed with the CG-PUSCH and associated CG-UCI in the configured grant resource. The UE may transmit an uplink (UL) communication signal in accordance with the determination of whether to transmit the first UCI in the PUCCH resource or to remove at least one part included in the first number of parts.

  • Patent number: 11516842
Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods and apparatus for a user equipment (UE), operating in a shared spectrum in a connected state or an idle state, to receive a channel occupancy time structure information (COT-SI) which includes one or more of a COT duration, a COT end symbol, and a COT pause indication, in addition to slot format indication for one or more slots. Some aspects described herein define a hierarchical approach to COT structure information (COT-SI) signaling. For example, a UE may be configured with a set of short COT tables using remaining minimum system information (RMSI) signaling and may receive concatenation of COT-SI signaling identifying index values in a control channel corresponding to one or more of the set of COT tables. Based on receiving COT-SI signaling, the UE may communicate in accordance with an occurrence of a COT.

  • Publication number: 20220377795
Abstract: Configured grant (CG) channel occupancy time (COT) sharing procedure is disclosed. A user equipment (UE) sharing a COT may indicate in the uplink control indicator (UCI) the remaining COT duration, an offset indication identifying where the uplink transmission is expected to end, and a channel access priority class (CAPC) which may be used by the base station to determine which type of data may be included in downlink transmissions in the shared COT. Where the energy detection (ED) threshold has not been configured for COT sharing, the UE may reduce the information included in the UCI. The base station may alternatively configured which information for the UE to include in the UCI for potential COT sharing. The COT sharing information may further be compressed by coding such information into tables or leveraging knowledge of transmission characteristics, such as configured end points.
