  • Patent number: 9313801
Abstract: There is proposed a mechanism by means of which resources for a data transmission between a user equipment and a base transceiver station are set. For this purpose, a resource dedicated to the user equipment (like an SR resource) is combined with at least one contention based resource allocated to a contention based transmission by the user equipment (like a CB-PUSCH resource). The at least one contention based resource to be combined is selected by executing a mapping according to a predetermined rule and based on an information indicating a specific resource element dedicated to the user equipment to at least one set of available contention based resources, and by determining an information identifying at least one resource element of the at least one contention based resource.

  • Patent number: 9295040
Abstract: A method is disclosed for scheduling packet data in a communications system. The method includes configuring, in a network apparatus, semi-persistent transmission resources to a user equipment via higher layer signalling, wherein the configuring step includes pre-allocating a data transmission resource and assigning a scheduling request resource to the user equipment. A confirmation message is transmitted to the user equipment from the network apparatus, wherein the confirmation message informs the user equipment that the user equipment is able to start transmitting data on a physical uplink shared channel PUSCH to the network apparatus by using the pre-allocated data transmission resource and a pre-configured transmission format, wherein the pre-allocated data transmission resource is linked to the corresponding confirmation message, the corresponding confirmation message being linked to the corresponding semi-persistently assigned scheduling request resource.

  • Publication number: 20150373704
Abstract: The disclosure relates to subframe bundling in a system where subframe bundling is based on a set of bundling definitions. Control information is provided for at least one communication device configured to provide subframe bundling such that the control information is generated to be at least partially inconsistent with the set of bundling definitions. • Publication number: 20150327047
Abstract: Two physical layer user terminal capability alternatives are introduced for device-to-device discovery for FDD mode terminals: a full discovery physical layer capability, and a partial discovery physical layer capability. The full discovery physical layer capability corresponds to an alternative where a discovery-capable user terminal has a capability to perform both Discovery_Scan (on an uplink band) and Discovery_Tx (on a downlink band) operations. A Discovery_Tx operation corresponds to transmission of a discovery signal to another user terminal directly over the air. A Discovery_Scan operation corresponds to reception of the discovery signal from another user terminal directly over the air. The partial discovery physical layer capability corresponds to an alternative where the discovery-capable terminal has a capability to perform either Discovery_Scan operation (on the downlink band) or Discovery_Tx (on the uplink band) operation (or both).

  • Publication number: 20150327244
Abstract: A method for reference signal transmission is disclosed, wherein a demodulation reference signal DMRS and a sounding reference signal SRS is transmitted in a same time domain resource from a user terminal to an LTE base station. A single reference signal sequence is used both for demodulation and detection of a data channel, and for channel sounding, such that a reference signal sequence part used for the demodulation and detection of the data channel is in a power offset compared to a reference signal sequence part used for the channel sounding. Code division multiplexing is applied on a reference signal sequence by using a cyclic shift of a whole length of the sequence. The cyclic shift is selected such that reference signal sequences allocated to the different user terminals are orthogonal over a minimum allocation granularity of the data channel.

  • Publication number: 20150296357
Abstract: Methods and apparatuses for supporting communication of critical data in a cellular system are disclosed. Upon determination of communication of critical data in a first cell a node of the first cell generates a signal including information of reservation of radio resources for said communication of critical data. The signal is communicated from the first cell to at least one second cell to reduce interference on said radio resources. A node of a second cell receives the signal and manages interference on said radio resources based on the signal. This includes prevention or limitation of use of said radio resources in the second cell when the second cell is not involved in communication of critical data.

  • Patent number: 9155100
Abstract: A cellular communication system comprising a plurality of user equipment and a network infrastructure. Radio resource of the plurality of cells is divided into more than one radio resource groups. A network infrastructure element detects a requirement of radio resource allocation for a user equipment and determines effective interference to be generated by the required radio resource to a defined group of neighboring cells. User equipment is allocated a radio resource from one of the radio resource groups on the basis of the determined effective interference to be generated to the defined group of neighboring cells. Inter-cell interference decreases and the throughput of the cellular system increases, but the exchange of physical layer information is not increased.

  • Publication number: 20150282020
Abstract: There is provided a mechanism for controlling a procedure for requesting resources for a communication in a communication network by a terminal device or UE. When the UE has selected a target cell from a plurality of communication cells, a message such as a resource request. A controller of a cell, such as an eNB, scans the reserved resources for receiving a message such as the resource request from a UE. The message is decoded by using identification information of the own cell and identification information of UEs being valid in the own cell. Then, it is determined whether the received message indicates as the target cell the own cell, and whether the UE is a known UE allocated to the own cell. Based on this determination, the message such as the resource request is processed or another cell is informed thereabout.
