  • Patent number: 8547580
Abstract: Print performance is evaluated by printing a diagnostic image comprising color patches. Colorant usage in the printed image is measured by, for instance, scanning each patch. Measured color values are then compared to target color values. Based on the comparison, groups of patches whose color values vary significantly from expectations are identified. Variant groups are then analyzed to identify, in addition to color quality control problems, spatial problems that affect only a localized area of a printed page. Such spatial problems may include, for example, problems with contrast or streaks. A heat map illustrating the differences may be generated to help an operator visualize the spatial problem. A template for the diagnostic image may be selected from a plurality of randomly generated diagnostic targets based on total colorant usage for at least one colorant in each column of color patches. Certain patches may be predefined across for each candidate target.

  • Patent number: 6933967
Abstract: A color calibration system includes a visual display terminal (VDT), a color calibration sensor optically coupled to the VDT, and a computer processing unit (CPU) electrically coupled to the VDT and the color calibration sensor. The VDT has a display screen and a plurality of color channels, each color channel having an intensity input, a bias input, and a gain input. The VDT produces an image on the display screen responsive to the intensity input. The color calibration sensor provides values responsive to the chromaticity and luminance of a test patch portion of the image on the display screen. The CPU performs calibration of the VDT including setting the bias of each color channel to reduce the difference between a target black point and the test patch with the intensity input at a minimum value for each color channel.

  • Publication number: 20010031223
Abstract: A laboratory analyzer system has a base housing (1) on which a sample tray (4) with holding accommodations (5) for two or more samples is movably supported. A drive mechanism (2) inside the base housing advances the sample tray in a stepwise motion so that the samples are presented one by one to a tower-like analytical instrument module (16, 16′) that is installed on the base housing. The mounting arrangement for the analytical instrument module on the base housing is non-destructively releasable, with first connector elements (15) arranged at multiple locations on the base housing and second connector elements on the analytical instrument module. The multiple first connector elements offer the possibilities of installing more than one analytical instrument module on the base housing as well as installing a single instrument module at a choice of different locations on the base housing.

  • Patent number: 5398556
Abstract: A device for charging a measuring apparatus for thermal analysis with material specimens filled into containers includes a vertically displaceable gripping member and a rotatable specimen plate with a plurality of openings arranged in a circle. For transferring a specimen container to the measuring location in the measuring apparatus, the specimen container is moved underneath the gripping member by rotating the specimen plate, the gripping member is lowered and the specimen container is gripped by gripping fingers attached to the gripping member. The container is then raised from the specimen plate by raising the gripping member. Subsequently, the specimen plate is rotated until a recess in the specimen plate is located underneath the gripping member. The measuring location is also located directly underneath the gripping member.

  • Patent number: 5285125
Abstract: A short-circuiting and brush-lifting device comprises a rotatable actuating ring having with brush-actuating rods levers cause the brushes of the motor to lift up via the rotating actuating after the slip rings have been short-circuited as a result of the axial displacement of a short-circuiting ring. To make the device wear-resistant and insensitive to contamination, the actuating ring supports three rollers, with which it abuts in the starting position on the spring-loaded short-circuiting ring. The actuating ring is guided exactly in parallel by three axial guide rods, which are disposed perpendicularly to the brush-actuating rods. The configuration of all articulated joints of these rods is adjusted so as to allow the points of maximum excursion of the deflection of the articulated joint of the axial guide rods and the brush-actuating rods are exhibited at staggered times.

  • Patent number: 5134329
Abstract: In a self-ventilated electrical machine with vertical shaft, the ventilator is centered and releasably fastened to a hub on the rotor shaft below the stack of rotor plates. The ventilator must be detached from the hub before it can be removed from the housing of the machine. To facilitate assembly and dismantling of the ventilator disk on the hub, the hub has an annular protuberance which can be gripped radially from behind. At least three mobile clamping pieces are distributed uniformly around its circumference and can be engaged by interlocking or friction. The clamping pieces are carried by the ventilator disk and at least one limit stop for each clamping piece is arranged on the holding device for each clamping piece. This clamping connection of the ventilator to the hub of the rotor shaft is particularly suitable for self-ventilated high-voltage motors with high output and with a vertical rotor shaft.
