Air passage openings (53) are located in the inclined chips redirecting surface (51) and are connected via an air channel (30) to the motor compartment (19) of the planer housing (1) so that an air flow from the fan wheel (11) of the drive motor (8) passes through the air passage openings (53) and flows in the direction of the outlet openings (26, 27).
