Abstract: If a job executed on the data to be processed is stopped due to interruption of a wireless communication with an image processing apparatus and a portable terminal, which happens to occur while the image processing apparatus is receiving the data to be processed, which is transmitted by the portable terminal, the image processing apparatus examines if the portable terminals connected before and after stop of the job execution are one and the same, and requests the portable terminal to retransmit the data to be processed. And then the image processing apparatus resumes executing the job on the data to be processed, which is retransmitted in response to the request.

Abstract: An image processing apparatus reads out job ticket data indicating first conditions used for executing a job and a permission to change each of the first conditions and lack thereof. The image processing apparatus, then, reads out a functional conditions table indicating a first group made by grouping second conditions having a common concept and a second group made by grouping the first group having a common concept. Then, the image processing apparatus presents, as options for changing a first condition to which applying a change is prohibited, second conditions included in a first group to which a second condition that is the same as the first condition belongs. Abstract: In an image processing system that allows mutual remote operation with a client remotely operating one of an image processing apparatus and a portable information apparatus and with a server being remotely operated by the other, each of the image processing apparatus and the portable information apparatus includes a display portion to display an image, a switch portion to switch the display portion to a power saving mode in which power consumption is smaller than in a normal mode, when functioning as the server, and to switch the display portion to the normal mode, when functioning as a client, and a display control portion to simultaneously display a self-operation screen for operating the apparatus itself and a remote operation screen for remotely operating the server on the display portion, when functioning as the client.

Abstract: Personal address books of users are stored in an address server. Each user registers, with the personal address book of his/her own, conditions (transmission conditions) that should be satisfied when other users transmit image data to the user. The conditions are registered in correspondence with addresses of the other users. When one of the other users transmits (as a transmission source) to the user (as a transmission destination) who has set the transmission conditions, from an MFP, the transmission conditions, which were set by the transmission destination user with respect to the transmitter, are downloaded from the address server to the transmission source MFP. And then the MFP transmits the image data to the transmission destination user under the downloaded transmission conditions. This enables the transmission destination user to cause the image data to be transmitted thereto under such conditions that match the needs of the transmission destination user.

Abstract: An information processing apparatus has a first device driver and a second device driver installed thereon to use a first device and a second device, respectively. When the first device driver is activated, an operation setting screen to perform operation setting for the first device is displayed on a display portion. If a user changes the target device from the first device to the second device while performs operation setting via the operation setting screen, the second device driver for the second device takes over a value set using the first device driver and recorded in a memory.

Abstract: An image processing apparatus includes an operation panel as a touch panel and a CPU for performing processing based on a gesture thereon. The CPU includes a determination unit for determining a detail of processing corresponding to the gesture. When the detail of processing corresponding to the gesture includes a first detail of processing as processing on a file and a second detail of processing as processing on a displayed image and when the file targeted for the processing is stored in a storage device, the determination unit determines the detail of processing as the first detail of processing.

Abstract: A workflow file includes body data and information defining a user who can process the file. In a file processing system including a plurality of file processing devices each having a touch panel, when a first file processing device to which a first user who can process the workflow file logs in detects that a first gesture of identifying the workflow file and a second gesture of indicating a second user who will perform processing subsequently have been performed on the touch panel, the second user is identified based on the second gesture and the defining information, and a second file processing device corresponding to the second user is reported to that effect. When the second file processing device detects that a third gesture for making a request for processing of the workflow file has been performed, the second file processing device acquires the body data of the workflow file.

Abstract: Upon accepting, from a user B, a new registration of a configuration showing that the user B wishes to receive data via a FAX, a server sets a notification flag to an address book of a user A which includes an address of the user B. Upon accepting a login of the user A, an MFP displays a message to notify the user A of the new registration by the user B, based on the notification flag. The user A, who has notified of the new registration, can transmit the data to the user B with use of the new registration configured by the user B, namely via a FAX. Accordingly, the user B can receive the data via a FAX as the user B wishes.

To execute the plurality of jobs stored therein, the encrypted shared keys included in the respective jobs are decrypted with a secret key by the external recording medium. Abstract: An image forming system includes: an image forming apparatus; and a linking apparatus that is linked with the image forming apparatus. The linking apparatus is operable in any of a plurality of modes including a first mode of contacting the image forming apparatus and executing a specific operation and a second mode of not contacting the image forming apparatus for a purpose of executing the specific operation. The image forming apparatus includes a mode shift command unit that, when the image forming apparatus shifts to a power saving mode, notifies the linking apparatus of a shift command indicating that the linking apparatus should be shifted to the second mode.
