  • Patent number: 5571364
Abstract: A process is described for the perparation of radiation image storage panels. The process includes forming a phosphor sheet from stimulable phosphor and a thermoplastic elastomer binder, the binder having a softening point of 30.degree. to 300.degree. C. The phosphor sheet is then heated on a support and subsequently compressed by a calender roll under heating. The sheet during compression is maintained at or heated to a temperature not lower than the softening point of the binder so as to fix the phosphor sheet on the support.

  • Patent number: 5446292
Abstract: A stimulable phosphor sheet is exposed to radiation carrying image information of an object, and a radiation image of the object is thereby stored on the stimulable phosphor sheet. The stimulable phosphor sheet is then exposed to stimulating rays, which cause the stimulable phosphor sheet to emit light in proportion to the amount of energy stored thereon during its exposure to the radiation. The emitted light is photoelectrically detected, and an image signal representing the radiation image is thereby obtained. When the stimulable phosphor sheet is exposed to the radiation, the stimulable phosphor sheet is located such that it may make an angle falling within the range of 5 degrees to 60 degrees with respect to a plane, which is normal to the direction of travel of the radiation carrying the image information of the object. The image signal, which has been obtained by photoelectrically detecting the light emitted by the stimulable phosphor sheet, is corrected in accordance with the angle.

  • Patent number: 5352903
Abstract: A radiation image read-out apparatus comprises a single light guide member constituted of a light guiding material. The light guide member comprises two input end faces for collecting light, which is emitted along a scanning line of stimulating rays and from two surfaces of a stimulable phosphor sheet having a radiation image stored thereon, and output end faces for radiating out the light, which has entered into the light guide member from the two input end faces. A single photodetector is located in close contact with the output end faces and photoelectrically detects the light radiated out of the light guide member. The input end faces of the light guide member comprise a first input end face for collecting the light, which is emitted from the front surface of the stimulable phosphor sheet, and a second input end face for collecting the light, which is emitted from the back surface of the stimulable phosphor sheet.

  • Patent number: 4727420
Abstract: An acoustooptic image can be formed by using a plate-like image sensor capable of increasing its optical density upon exposure to a radiation. The image sensor is exposed to a radiation bearing image information to record the image information on the image sensor. Then, pulsed light is applied to the image sensor to enable the same to generate a pressure wave commensurate with the recorded image information. The pressure wave is detected in synchronism with the pulsed light and converted into an electric signal, from which an image signal is reproduced. The image signal may be displayed on a CRT, or recorded on a magnetic recording medium, or reproduced on a photographic material.
