  • Publication number: 20010026386
Abstract: A digital television set (hereinafter, DTV) displays an operation panel of a camera-integrated digital video recorder (hereinafter, DVC). A remote controller for transmitting a control signal to the DTV has a first operation unit and a second operation unit for operating the operation panel. When operating the DVC by using a GUI element displayed on the operation panel, a user operates direction keys and selection keys on the first operation unit. When operating a specific function of the DVC independently of the GUI element displayed on the operation panel, the user controls specific operation keys on the second operation unit. Thus, the user can remotely operate the DVC in a simple operation procedure by using these two operation methods together.

  • Patent number: 6084560
Abstract: Disclosed is an image display apparatus for dither halftoning a video signal that enters from an external unit and displaying the resulting video signal on a display unit. A dither table, which comprises an array of dither threshold values used by a dither halftoning circuit, is changed based upon the capability of the display unit to display halftone display colors and/or data relating to the number of display colors contained in the video signal. In order to select threshold values, an output value of the dither halftoning circuit, which is at an identical display position in the immediately preceding frame of the video signals is referenced.

  • Patent number: 5912713
Abstract: A horizontal synchronizing signal is applied as a reference signal and a voltage-controlled oscillator outputs a display clock signal on the basis of the frequency of the horizontal synchronizing signal. The frequency of the display clock signal is frequency-divided in accordance with a frequency-dividing value selected from among a plurality of frequency-dividing signals stored in advance, the difference in frequency between the frequency-divided display clock signal and the horizontal synchronizing signal and the phase difference between them are obtained by a phase comparator, and the frequency of the signal outputted by the voltage-controlled oscillator is decided in dependence upon the frequency difference. In an interval in which a vertical synchronizing signal turns off and the frequency of the horizontal synchronizing signal fluctuates, the reference signal and the horizontal synchronizing signal input to the phase comparator are held fixed to prevent a fluctuation in the outputted display clock.
