  • Patent number: 8055157
Abstract: An ion generating element of the present invention includes a discharge electrode and an inductive electrode, both of which are provided so as to face each other with a dielectric body sandwiched therebetween, and a heater electrode which warms the ion generating element by Joule heat produced because of a passage of an electrical current. A distance between the discharge electrode and the heater electrode is larger than that between the discharge electrode and the inductive electrode, and further a shield electrode having a connection for ground is provided between the heater electrode and the inductive electrode on a surface of the dielectric body at a side on which the inductive electrode is provided. Hence, it is possible to prevent a leak to the heater electrode at low cost, while giving consideration towards safety.

  • Patent number: 7826763
Abstract: A color laser printer is provided with a first exhaust duct for exhausting ozone generated by a charging unit etc. inside a housing to the outside of the housing. The first exhaust duct is therein provided with a catalytic honeycomb filter for ozone gas treatment and an ion emitting unit for emitting negative ions into an atmosphere. Most of an ozone gas component is decomposed and/or absorbed by the catalytic honeycomb filter for ozone gas treatment. Furthermore, the residual ozone gas component is decomposed by the negative ions generated by the ion emitting unit. This arrangement makes it possible to provide a new ozone removal device which is different from an ozone decomposing filter or a heat source.

  • Patent number: 7796903
Abstract: A charging apparatus which is excellent in charging uniformity and thus allows a to-be-charged body to be charged uniformly and in which the generation of discharge products can be reduced, is provided. In the charging apparatus, ions are generated under the difference in electrical potential between the discharge electrode and the induction electrode produced in the ion generating section. The generated ions are caused to flow toward the counter electrode, whereupon the to-be-charged body arranged between the ion generating section and the counter electrode is charged.

  • Patent number: 7778561
Abstract: In a charging device of the present invention, with reference to a state (movement speed of a charging receiving material, operating period of charging device) in which the charging device is used which state is obtained by an image formation controlling section, a voltage controlling section sets or changes an applied voltage to be applied between a discharge electrode and an inductive electrode. Accordingly, even in a case where discharge is hard to occur, a necessary amount of ions can be supplied stably.

  • Patent number: 7710356
Abstract: A lighting rate is calculated from a video signal input in a plasma display device, and an output current of DC-DC converter, which is the same as a discharge current in a sustain period corresponding to the lighting rate, is synchronized with a generation timing of discharge current. With such a configuration, even if discharge current in the sustain period of each subfield is rapidly changed, a sustain pulse voltage can be kept constant.

  • Publication number: 20090317049
Abstract: To provide a recording/playback system capable of improving the accuracy of image adjustment for playing back a video content recorded in a recording medium. A recording/playback system relating to the present invention includes a recording unit and a playback unit. The recording unit determines, as adjustment parameters, control values for controlling values to be output in response to input of recorded pieces of video data included in a video stream each having a predetermined period and having a luminance level that has not yet been adjusted. The recording unit records the determined adjustment parameters and pieces of time information in correspondence with each other. The pieces of time information indicate timings for applying the adjustment parameters to the pieces of original video data. The playback unit outputs the values for playing back the pieces of original video data based on the adjustment parameters recorded in the recording unit.
