  • Patent number: 6805094
Abstract: An on-vehicle engine control apparatus carries out engine drive control and throttle control using one single CPU and improves safety. The apparatus includes a load relay for feeding a power to a motor that controls throttle valve opening, a first IC (integrated circuit element) containing a CPU, and a second IC connected to the first IC via serial interfaces. The apparatus further includes a first mutual diagnostic device incorporated in the first IC and diagnoses operation of the second IC, a second mutual diagnostic device incorporated in the second IC to diagnoses operation of the first IC, and a detector for detecting an abnormality in operation of each system involved in throttle valve control. Operation of the load relay is controlled based on diagnostic results and abnormality detection results of the first and second mutual diagnostic devices.

  • Patent number: 6799110
Abstract: Evacuation operation performance is improved when any abnormality occurs in an electronic throttle control system. When any serious abnormality occurs, a first abnormality storage element (133) operates, a load relay for a power supply circuit (104a) of a throttle valve open/close controlling motor (103) is de-energized to operate a first alarm and display (109a). Thus a first device carries out the evacuation operation by a fuel cut control. When any slight abnormality occurs, a second abnormality storing element (136) comes to actuate thereby a second alarm and display (109b) being operated. Thus a second device carries out the evacuation operation using together a throttle valve opening control by the motor 103 and the fuel cut control.

  • Publication number: 20040186659
Abstract: A drive control circuit generates a conduction drive output responsive to a detection output of an accelerator pedal depression degree sensor and an air-intake throttle-valve opening sensor, and controls a driving switch element connected to an air-intake throttle-valve opening control motor. A monitoring control circuit drives a control circuit power supply interruption element that closes a control power supply circuit of the driving switch element, and stops control operation of the driving switch element by a conduction-inhibit output. The drive control circuit can stop operation of a power supply interruption element by a feed-inhibit output. At the time of starting operation, a status signal determines activeness of the feed-inhibit output and conduction-inhibit output, after confirming that those outputs are normal, the inhibition is released.

  • Patent number: 6795767
Abstract: To miniaturize and standardize an on-vehicle electronic controller by improving an input filter circuit in the device. Direct input interface circuits and a direct output interface circuit are connected to a data bus of a microprocessor, which has a nonvolatile memory for storing a control program and so on and a RAM memory for computing. ON/OFF signals inputted from indirect input interface circuits are transmitted to the RAM memory via a variable filter circuit, in which a filter constant is set by a constant setting register, and interactive serial communication circuits. A filter constant stored in the nonvolatile memory is stored in the constant setting register via the interactive serial communication circuits.

  • Patent number: 6789533
Abstract: An engine control system provides a gas concentration detection output irrespective of variation in product or change due to passage of time using an on-vehicle exhaust gas sensor. An exhaust gas sensor 107 and an electric heater 119 are connected to a microprocessor 120a, and an oxygen-concentration detection output Ip of exhaust gas, a calibration signal Vc and an internal resistance detection signal Vr are inputted through A/D converter 125. A program memory 121a stores standard characteristic data of the exhaust gas sensor 107. An atmospheric air oxygen-concentration detection output Ip0 under fuel-cut drive is measured and monitored. The electric heater 119 controls temperature so that the output coincides with the stored value. Current internal resistance of the exhaust gas sensor 107 is read and stored as target resistance. In normal driving, the electric heater 119 is controlled so that the internal resistance becomes the target resistance.

The first transfer section transfers and writes the variable control data from the data memory to the RAM. The second transfer section writes estimated variable control data based on the reference data from the reference data storage memory to the RAM.

  • Publication number: 20030079163
Abstract: A microprocessor runaway monitoring control circuit with which self-diagnosis of a watchdog timer WDT can be carried out safely and cheaply even during operation of the microprocessor (CPU). A microprocessor 101 supplies first and second watchdog clearing signals WD1 and WD2 to first and second watchdog timers WDT1 and WDT2, and when the both of the watchdog clearing signals WD1 and WD2 stop, the microprocessor 101 is reset by way of a logical connector circuit 122. The microprocessor 101 has failure diagnosing means 103 which intentionally stops the first watchdog clearing signal WD1 and diagnoses the response of the first watchdog timer WDT1 on the basis of a monitor signal MN1 and stops the second watchdog clearing signal WD2 and diagnoses the response of the second watchdog timer WDT2 on the basis of a monitor signal MN2, whereby diagnosis of the watchdog timers WDT1, WDT2 is carried out without the microprocessor 101 being stopped.
