  • Publication number: 20050240441
Abstract: A hospital information system according to the present invention lets an RF reader 12 comprised by a PDA 8 read tag information, once for all, recorded by RF tags either attached to, or embedded in, plural kinds of a plurality of patient wrist bands, injection medicine bottles, patient charts, medical instrument cases, et cetera, and transmits a query to a server 5 by way of a wireless LAN 9, server 7 and LAN 3 for confirmation from the server 5. The server 5 collates it with the content of a medical practice order recorded in its data base, and registers a completion of instructed operation for an instructed item in the database, as well as responds back with notifying “correct” if the transmitted readout data from the PDA 8 is correct. If the readout data is not correct, the PDA will be notified of “incorrect” with an instruction for reading again.

  • Patent number: 6813713
Abstract: A data processing apparatus can execute a variety of operations by means of a data processing circuit and so on in an operative state and deal with illegal external inputs by means of an input monitor circuit, and can temporarily stop such components in a stopped state to prevent useless power consumption. Also, a clock counter circuit counts a clock signal fed from the outside when an operation control circuit temporarily stops the input monitor circuit and data processing circuits, and as the count number reaches a predetermined number, a monitor start circuit restarts the temporarily stopped monitor circuit, so that the data processing apparatus can deal with illegal external inputs even in a stopped state.

  • Patent number: 6757821
Abstract: An environment switching program has a function of saving/resetting some or all combinations of machine setups. More specifically, an environment at an arbitrary timing designated by the user is acquired from a registry, and is saved in an environment setting information database (DB). When the user inputs a switching request, the saved environment is written back to the registry. Hence, once the user sets up operation environments in units of use patterns such as use in an office, use at a visit place, or use at home, he or she can repetitively use those setups by reconstituting them as needed.

  • Patent number: 6091059
Abstract: A low cost, compact heat roller device is provided which includes a heat generating resistance for increasing the temperature of the heat roller wherein the heat generating resistance is divided into two parts in order to correspond to passage widths of different recording materials. The heating power of one of these heat generating resistances is changed and the temperature increase of a non-paper transport area of the heat roller is suppressed. Specifically, the heat roller device includes a heat roller and a press roller opposite the heat roller, two heat generating resistances formed on an outer surface of the heat roller which generate heat independently of one another, a common electrode for supplying current and separately arranged additional supply electrodes. The time during which the respective heat generating resistance is on, is changed, in relative terms, according to the object to be heated, and thus the heating power is changed.

  • Patent number: 6018336
Abstract: When a pressure sensitive tablet is tapped with a touch pen, input coordinate values x and y, corresponding to the position tapped with the pen, are sent to a tablet driver from a tablet controller. Event data is added to the coordinate values x and y sent to the tablet driver by a pointing management portion to be sent to an operating system. If the coordinate values x and y sent from the tablet driver are included in an area showing a switch of a mode displayed on a screen, the coordinate values x and y are sent to a tablet mode switching tool by a pen service portion of the operating system.

  • Patent number: 5790975
Abstract: An onboard navigation system detects a condition that a recognized present position of the vehicle belongs to a map of a peripheral part of a region covered by map data groups recorded on a recording disc. If a changer type driver is used as a player for reproducing map data, the recording disc being played is changed to a new disc in response to the detection of the above described condition. If a single driver is used, identification information of a corresponding disc is displayed. With these features, the disc being played is quickly changed to a required new disc.

  • Patent number: 5613498
Abstract: An apparatus comprises a separable sensor for detecting physiological data of a human body, a memory for storing the physiological data such as brain waves, skin temperature, and the like detected, a controller for reading out the physiological data from the memory and for supplying to a light modulator, and an LED for emitting a flickering light or a sound converted in accordance with the physiological data toward the user. The physiological data upon leading has been stored in the memory. Therefore, when the same user is intend to lead into the same desired state again, the physiological and mental state of the user which has detected before may be used. There is, consequently, no need to attach a sensor each time of the leading.

  • Patent number: 5402797
Abstract: Disclosed is a brain wave leading apparatus which can achieve a high brain wave leading efficiency when a human brain wave frequency is led to a desired frequency band. This brain wave leading apparatus comprises a brain wave sensor for detecting the brain wave of a person to be tested (subject) during brain wave leading, and a control unit for renewing a leading center frequency for leading the brain wave frequency therewith. The brain wave frequency of the subject is measured even during brain wave leading, and based on a weighted mean frequency f' detected in a predetermined interval, a leading center frequency F in a subsequent interval is determined. The leading of the brain wave frequency is continued with the leading center frequency F supplied from the control unit. Even if the weighted mean frequency of the subject during leading varies, therefore, the leading center frequency follows up that change, so that brain wave leading will be executed in a short period of time.

  • Patent number: RE35963
Abstract: An automatic focusing camera is equipped with an automatic subject distance detecting device for detecting which of a plurality of predetermined distances is nearest to that at which the subject lies. A lens positioning member adjusts an objective lens to a suitable focusing position in which the objective lens has a depth of field straddling that nearest predetermined distance detected by the automatic subject distance detecting device. Another lens positioning member adjusts the objective lens to a focusing position in which the objective lens will be focused on a subject, such as a landscape, at infinity, independently of the distances detected by the automatic subject distance detecting device. The latter objective lens positioning member is externally operable when it is intended to photograph a subject at infinity, before depressing the shutter button.
