  • Patent number: 6807480
Abstract: A vicinity search using register point data in a designated area reduces search time. The vicinity search data include at least category information, names of register points and country information. The search device conducts the vicinity search by specifying any one of category information to which the register points belong, names of the register points and country information, or a combination, by option and display. The search device further uses category information with flags representing the presence and absence of the register point data, whereby the register point data are searched by referring to the flags.

  • Publication number: 20030156286
Abstract: An object is to accurately measure the Stokes parameters, without the occurrence of polarization fluctuations or PDL during the splitting of the incident light. When the incident light is made incident on a first-stage prism, the light is split into two first splitting light rays. Next, the first split light rays are respectively incident on a pair of prisms of a second stage. Each of the pair of first split light rays is split into two rays by a second-stage prism, to obtain four second split light rays.

  • Patent number: 6560379
Abstract: Between a lens of a collimator and a retro-reflector as a total reflecting element, a prism, a polarizer, a Faraday rotator and a linear retarder are arranged in the order. The core/clad section serving as an input optical fiber of the collimator has its optical axis coincident with an optical axis of the lens. When the light exited the collimator reaches the retro-reflector, the outgoing light reflects deviated by a spacing Y, the returning light of which is refracted by the prism and incident on the core/clad serving as an output optical fiber of the collimator.

  • Publication number: 20020110346
Abstract: An optical variable attenuator constituting an optical component comprises a polarizer, a Faraday rotator, a linear phase shifter, and an analyzer which are successively arranged in the direction of light propagation. The thickness of the linear phase shifter in the direction of light propagation and the angle which the crystal optical axis of the linear phase shifter forms with the transmission axis of the analyzer are set as appropriate so that the linear phase shifter compensates for wavelength and temperature dependences of the Faraday rotator, permitting the optical variable attenuator to exhibit favorable light-attenuation-wavelength and temperature characteristics.

  • Patent number: 6118411
Abstract: A closed loop is formed by loop antenna elements which equivalently function as inductance, a capacitor inserted in such a manner as to divide the loop antenna into the loop antenna elements, and an impedance-matching dividing element for tuning the antenna and establishing matching with a high-frequency circuit side. A subsidiary substrate with the capacitor mounted thereon is fixedly installed by a retaining pawl of an antenna holder, and is connected to the loop antenna elements by being soldered thereto at a pair of lands on the subsidiary substrate. As a result, it is possible to improve the effective gain of the antenna and effectively utilize the substrate space.

  • Patent number: 5487944
Abstract: The invention is to a non-woven fabric sheet for a storage battery separator. The sheet has an excellent property of holding electrolyte by using conjugate fibers having a specific sectional form. The sheet comprises an ethylene copolymer having a specific structure which can introduce a desirable amount of sulfo groups efficiently under mild reaction condtions. Conjugate fibers having a split sectional form include a first component and a second component having a radial arrangement. The conjugate fibers are obtained by forming an ethylene based random copolymer containing a unit represented by a formula --CH.sub.2 CH(COOH)--, with polypropylene. Subsequently, a non-woven fabric sheet of a thermally bonding type is obtained by mixing the conjugate fibers with polypropoylene fibers. Subsequently, a non-woven fabric sheet for a storage battery separator is obtained by sulfonating the non-woven fabric sheet using gas such as SO.sub.3 to form a unit of the formula --CH.sub.2 C(SO.sub.3 H)(COOH)--.

  • Patent number: 5353748
Abstract: A combustion flame is distributed so as to cross a group of heat absorbing tubes arranged parallel to and spaced from one another, thereby cooling the combustion flame. A specific temperature zone of approximately 1000.degree. C.-1300.degree. C. for suppressing generation of NO.sub.x and accelerating oxidation of CO is locally formed within the heat absorbing tubes by decimating at least one tube. In the zone, CO generated upstream of the zone is oxidized by reacting with reaction radicals generated by combustion and/or oxygen.

  • Patent number: 4087627
Abstract: A clock regenerator for a binary input which comprises a shift register having successively coupled first stages, a single predetermined stage, and second stages. A frequency divider device responsive to a local oscillation and with a controllable ratio produces timing pulses of a timing period equal to that prescribed number of clock periods which may be unity. Each timing pulse presets a binary signal in the single predetermined stage. The signal is shifted, when a transition occurs in binary values of the input signal within a predetermined interval defined by each timing period. The signal is shifted into the first and second stages if the transition occurs during a leading and a trailing half of each timing period, respectively, the timing pulse thus leading and lagging behind the input signal. The shifted binary signal controls the frequency division ratio to phase-synchronize the timing pulses with the input signal.
