  • Patent number: 7734388
Abstract: A wheel-speed-sensor-anomaly detection apparatus detects anomaly of wheel speed sensors of a vehicle. When a difference between the minimum wheel speed among detected wheel speeds and the smallest value among the remaining wheel speeds is greater than a predetermined threshold value, in principle, a wheel speed sensor of the wheel corresponding to the minimum wheel speed is determined to be anomalous. Meanwhile, when a wheel having a lowered tire air pressure (air-pressure-lowered wheel) is present and a road surface on which the vehicle is currently traveling is a low-? road surface, the operation of detecting anomaly of the wheel speed sensors is prohibited. This operation reliably prevents erroneous detection of anomaly of the wheel speed sensor of the air-pressure-lowered wheel, which erroneous detection would otherwise occur due to the locking tendency of the air-pressure-lowered wheel occurring because of decreased tire air pressure, in particular, on a low-? road surface.

  • Patent number: 7513577
Abstract: A motion control apparatus for a vehicle can perform vehicle stability control. The apparatus determines that the vehicle is experiencing spin tendency when it detects a driver's specific operation that induces spin tendency and then detects a specific behavior representing spin tendency of the vehicle, and changes the conditions for initiating the vehicle stability control such that the control is initiated more easily. The specific operation may be an excessive steering operation in the turning direction or a load moving operation which increases the load acting on the front wheels. The specific behavior may be disagreement between behavior of steering angle and behavior of actual yaw rate of the vehicle. Accordingly, the occurrence of relatively slow spin tendency caused by the above “specific operation” can be detected with certainty. Further, upon detection of spin tendency, vehicle stability control is early initiated and executed, whereby stability of the vehicle is maintained.

  • Publication number: 20080300765
Abstract: It is predicted whether a spin amount is tending to diverge and a vehicle is tending to become unstable, or the spin amount is tending to converge and the vehicle is tending to become stable. When the convergent tendency is predicted, a correction to reduce the spin amount is performed. As a result, the performance of a braking force control can be made difficult when the spin amount is tending to converge. Thus, it is possible to prevent an anti-spin control from being performed when there is actually no need to perform the anti-spin control, such as when the vehicle posture is correcting.

  • Publication number: 20080292328
Abstract: An object of the present invention is, in an image-forming machine equipped with plural paper feeders that feed paper to a drum unit at different paper feed speeds due to the difference in the shapes of paper traveling routes, to control the image-forming machine so as to select a paper feeder suitable for the condition of printing-speed-priority. A stencil printing machine has three paper feeders; a paper feed table, a first tray, and a second tray. The maximum allowable printing speeds to a drum unit of the three paper feeders: differ from each other in accordance with the difference in the shapes of traveling routes; increase in the order of the paper feed table, the first tray, and then the second tray; and are stored as data. When a user carries out printing at the setting of speed-priority, a control unit of the machine and a paper feeder selection device select the paper feeder of the highest maximum allowable image-forming speed and carry out the printing.

  • Publication number: 20080009994
Abstract: An object is to simplify the structure of electric wirings, and to facilitate installation. A vehicular motion quantity sensor and a steering angle sensor are installed in the same casing or mechanically connected directly with the casing. Therefore, it is possible to put together electrical wiring harnesses for transmitting the detection signals from the vehicular motion quantity sensor and the steering angle sensor to an ECU. Moreover, since all of the sensors can be located in the same compartment, the structure of the electrical wiring harnesses can be simplified and can be installed more easily.

  • Patent number: 7216942
Abstract: This device is applied to a vehicle having a dual circuit brake conduit (so-called X-conduit) comprising a circuit for a front-right wheel and a rear-left wheel and a circuit for a front-left wheel and a rear-right wheel. This device obtains basic control volume Gb based upon a vehicle body speed and a road friction coefficient during an understeer restraining control or oversteer restraining control, and obtains yaw control volume Gd based upon a deviation between a target yaw rate and actual yaw rate. Then, it exerts braking force according to the basic control volume Gb respectively on two wheels of one circuit to which front wheel at the outer side of the turning direction and the rear wheel at the inner side of the turning direction belong, to thereby decelerate the vehicle, and further exerts braking force according to the yaw control volume Gd on either one wheel of the same circuit, thereby producing a yawing moment for making the turning state close to the target state.
