  • Patent number: 4784420
Abstract: An orientation control apparatus for a suspender, comprising a first lever which has two ropes fixed to each of both its ends, a second lever which is disposed so as to be rotatable in a rotating direction of the first lever, a driver which rotates the second lever, and a damping device which connects an end part of the first lever and an end part of the second lever and which operates in case of preventing a deviational motion of the suspender, to allow the rotation of the first lever relative to the second lever and to damp a force for rotating the first lever, and in the other case, to inhibit the first lever from rotating relative to the second lever.

  • Patent number: 4671494
Abstract: An overload prevention apparatus includes a geared member with a number of teeth formed thereon, an engagement member including an engagement portion of which dimensions are determined so as to allow the latter to enter the valley on the geared member, a supporting member for turnably supporting the engagement member so as to allow the latter to turn toward and away from the geared member and a resilient member disposed between the engagement member and the supporting member to thrust the engagement portion on the engagement member toward the geared member. Either the geared member or the supporting member is arranged to move relative to the other. The direction of movement of the movable member is determined by the direction of extension of the teeth on the geared member. When hoisting ropes pull the movable member with excessively high force, the geared member is caused to move against thrusting force of the engagement member generated by the resilient member whereby the hoisting ropes are unreeled further.

  • Patent number: 4563030
Abstract: An apparatus for controlling an orientation of a suspender hung from an overhead crane by four ropes, with the apparatus being adapted to control two orientations such as lateral and longitudinal inclinations of the suspender. A frame is adapted to be moved by a first screw mechanism, with second and third screw mechanisms being mounted on the frame. The second and third screw mechanisms have second and third threaded shafts which are movable relative to the frame in a direction parallel to a direction of movement of the frame and in opposite directions to each other. The four ropes for suspending the suspender are attached to appropriate ends of the second and third threaded shafts so that the apparatus can simultaneously control two orientations of the suspender. After a carrying out of an orientation control, the reactions applied to the apparatus can be borne by the self-locking action of the screw threads of the screw mechanisms.

  • Patent number: 4531647
Abstract: A device for stopping the swinging movement of a load hung by a crane. The crane includes a trolley mounted on an overhead girder of the crane with the trolley being capable of traveling back and forth on the overhead girder. A beam is pivotally supported by the trolley with two sets of sheaves mounted on the beam for displacement relative to each other. Ropes are trained over the two sets of sheaves. A suspension member is provided for suspending the load to be moved by the crane with the suspension member being connected to the lower ends of the ropes. Dampers are mounted between the trolley and the beam. The energy of the swinging movement of the load is converted, through the sheaves to the energy of the oscillating movement of the beam which is transmitted to the dampers, so that the energy causing the load to move in swinging motion can be absorbed by the dampers with a high degree of efficiency and the swinging movement of the load can be quickly stopped.

  • Patent number: 4489659
Abstract: A girder for supporting a movable body has a truss structure of a cross-sectional shape forming an isosceles triangle with a horizontal base. The truss structure is formed of three main tubes of a circular cross section that are located in positions corresponding to respective corners of the triangle and extend continuously over the length of the girder. A plurality of branch tubes of circular cross section are fixed at their ends to respective pairs of the main tubes by joint pieces, such that three branch tubes lie in a plane extending through the respective joint pieces perpendicular to the longitudinal axes of the main tubes so as to form the isosceles triangle. A rail support is secured to each main tube of the base of the isosceles triangle at a position disposed upwardly and outwardly of the center thereof, and a rail, along which the movable body is traversable, is supported on each rail support.

  • Patent number: 4425048
Abstract: A joint for interconnecting a main pipe and an auxiliary pipe of a framework structure. The joint is adapted to envelope the main pipe and to be fixed thereto and is provided with an expanded portion. The auxiliary pipe is adapted to be fixed to the expanded portion of the joint so that the main pipe and the auxiliary pipe are connected to each other through the joint.
