  • Patent number: 7201395
Abstract: In a knee-protecting airbag device according to the present invention, an airbag folded and housed in undeployed condition protrudes rearward from a housing case to deploy upward and protects knees of a driver upon inflow of inflation gas. The airbag includes a cover portion for covering a vehicle's rear side of an area proximate to the key cylinder upon completion of deployment, and a general portion in the upper edge side of the airbag except the cover portion. Kinetic energy of the cover portion as deployed in a position of complete deployment is restrained compared with a kinetic energy of the general portion as deployed in a position of complete deployment. This restraint is achieved by reducing amount of inflation gas flowing into the cover portion. The knee-protecting airbag device of the present invention prevents the inflating airbag from contacting with key accessories hung down from an ignition key inserted into the key cylinder in a manner to cause gas leakage.

  • Patent number: 7185912
Abstract: In the knee protection airbag device of the present invention, an airbag folded and housed in a case opened rearward of the vehicle pushes open the door portion of an airbag cover assembled with the case, upon inflow of inflation gas from the inflator. Around the airbag cover, there is arranged an interior decoration member for vehicle which is provided separate from the airbag cover. The door portion includes at least an upper door openable upward. The upper door is formed in such a size as to cover a gap formed between the interior decoration member and the airbag cover when opened upon deployment of the airbag.

  • Publication number: 20050006880
Abstract: The knee-protecting airbag of the present invention is folded and housed in front of knees of a seated vehicle occupant for protecting the knees, and includes an airbag body and a tether. The airbag body includes an occupant's side wall located toward the occupant upon deployment and a vehicle body side wall located toward the vehicle body. A lower part of the airbag body serves as an upstream, and an upper part of the airbag body serves as a downstream, respectively of flowing-in inflation gas. The tether has a band shape arranged along the transverse direction, and joins the walls, such that passages for gas are formed between the left and right ends of the tether and the left and right edges of the airbag in the inner circumference of the airbag body. The tether includes a gas communication hole. The gas communication hole is so dislocated from the transverse center of the airbag as to face the transverse center of the seated occupant.

  • Publication number: 20040207183
Abstract: A knee-protecting airbag device is located below a steering column in front of a driver and, at a lower side of a key cylinder into which an ignition key with accessories is inserted. The airbag device includes a housing located below the steering column for housing an airbag and an airbag. The airbag is folded and housed in the housing in undeployed condition, and upon inflow of inflation gas, protrudes rearward from the housing to deploy upward to protect knees of the driver. The airbag is provided in its upper edge in completely deployed condition with a cover portion for covering vehicle's rearward of an area proximate to the key cylinder. The airbag is further provided with a flexible reinforcing cloth to be located in a part of the cover portion to contact the key accessories as the key is inserted into the key cylinder. The airbag is protected by the reinforcing cloth even if it contacts with the key accessories upon deployment.

  • Publication number: 20040113744
Abstract: Conventional single-piece molded-type inductors are made by pressure-molding magnetic particles of ferroalloy, and have a problem that their insulation resistance drops sharply when placed in a high-temperature environment. Complex magnetic powder is obtained by mixing ferrous crystalline alloy magnetic powder with ferrous amorphous alloy magnetic powder, a connecting agent of 1 wt % to 10 wt % of the mixed magnetic powder being additionally mixed therein, producing a complex magnetic material for use in electronic components. Furthermore, a core is pressure-molded from the complex magnetic material, and a coil is buried in the core to obtain a magnetic element, such as an inductor.

  • Patent number: 6652612
Abstract: Silica particles for polishing have a three-dimensional polycondensation structure with an average particle diameter in a range from 5 to 300 nm. The silica particles have residual alkoxy groups therein and a carbon content in a range from 0.5 to 5 weight % retained in the residual alkoxy groups.

  • Patent number: 6593839
Abstract: A conventional braided wire has high direct current resistance and high winding resistance in high-frequency regions, making it impossible to achieve a power conversion transformer having sufficient conversion efficiency. In the present invention, a braided wire is braided from three or more cluster wires, each comprising multiple strands, and is used as winding material for a leakage flux-type power conversion transformer. The braid pitch of the braided wire is set so that the ratio between one-turn winding length and the braid pitch is between 0.5 and 2.5.

  • Publication number: 20030089045
Abstract: Silica particles for polishing to planarize a surface of a substrate without generating scratches, having the average particle diameter in the range from 5 to 300 nm, carbon content in the range from 0.5 to 5 weight %, and 10%-compressive elasticity modulus in the range from 500 to 3000 kgf/mm2. When the carbon content in the silica particles is less than 0.5 weight %, there is no residual alkoxy group and siloxane bonding proceeds, so that the obtained particles are hard. In that case, although the polishing rate is high, scratches remain or are generated anew after polishing, and planarity of the polished surface is insufficient. On the other hand, when the carbon content is over 5 weight %, many residual alkoxy group are contained in the particles, so that the particles are relatively soft and a sufficient polishing rate can not be achieved.

  • Patent number: 6294230
Abstract: The present invention relates to spherical laminated particles each comprising a core particle and a laminate part disposed on a surface of the core particle, wherein the laminate part has a compressive modulus which is smaller than that of the core particle. These spherical laminated particles have a large compressive strength and is excellent in the recovery from a deformation by an arbitrary load, when the load is removed afterwward, as compared with conventional elastic particles composed of a single substance. Therefore, the use of these spherical laminated particles as spacers minimizes the difference in extent of displacement of spacer particles attributed to the difference in load on individual spacer particles caused by, for example, the waviness of a substrate for liquid crystal display cell during the manufacturing of the liquid crystal display cell, so that the cell gap uniformity can be ensured.

  • Patent number: 5848805
Abstract: In a bag for a vehicle air bag device according to this invention, tethers are installed at positions clear of the spouting direction of gas from a flow regulator. Therefore, the flow regulating effect provided by the flow regulator is not impaired by the tethers, allowing the gas flow to be reliably directed diametrically outward toward the outer periphery of the bag, whereby the deployment speed of the bag moving toward the occupant can be reduced.Further, in a bag for a vehicle air bag device according to this invention, a folding system which allows less easy spreading is employed in the spouting direction of gas from the flow regulator. Therefore, the gas flow can be uniformly led in two mutually opposite directions, thereby making it possible to reduce the deployment speed of the bag moving toward the occupant.
