  • Patent number: 7530248
Abstract: A plug has a tip end portion, a taper portion, and a middle portion. The surface of the tip end portion is a spherical surface whose radius of curvature is R1 and length is L1 that is shorter than R1. The outer diameter of the taper portion on the front end side is D1, and the outer diameter on the back end side is D2 that is larger than D1, and the length is L2. The plug satisfies Expression (1), Expression (2) if 0<L1/R1<0.5 and Expression (3) if 0.5?L1/R1<1. The curve of the spherical surface of the tip end portion is gentler than that of the semi-spherical surface, and the diameter of a hole formed in a billet by the tip end portion is larger than that in the case of the semi-spherical surface. • Publication number: 20090054279
Abstract: The present invention provide a two-component anti-seizure agent for hot metal working process comprising the first aqueous solution and the second aqueous solution, wherein the first aqueous solution contains 10˜30 mass % of sodium silicate equivalent to anhydride to 100 mass % of total mass of the first aqueous solution, and the second aqueous solution contains at least one kind selected from a group consisting of: an organic acid and water-soluble amine salts thereof, an inorganic acid and water-soluble amine salts thereof, a water-soluble amine, a water-soluble alcohol, and a water-soluble metal chloride. When the two-component anti-seizure agent is applied onto disk-roll type guide shoes, it can be provided and maintained on the circumferential surface of the disk-roll type guide shoes without washed away by rolls' cooling water. Thereby, the anti-seizure agent does not adhere to rolls and the rolls and a pipe material do not cause slippage each other.

  • Publication number: 20090038359
Abstract: A billet is provided on a pass line between a pusher and a plug, and the billet is advanced and caught between a plurality of inclined rolls. At least between when said caught billet contacts said plug and when the piercing and rolling reaches a steady state, the advancing speed of the billet is not less than the advancing speed of the billet when the piercing and rolling is carried out without pushing the billet forward by the pusher in the steady state. By this manufacturing method, inner surface defects at a tip end of a hollow shell can be restrained.

  • Publication number: 20080206493
Abstract: An aspect of the present invention defines the composition and the physical properties of a coating solution so that drying unevenness is not caused even when the coated film is dried rapidly based on the premise that the coating solution containing a liquid crystal compound is coated on a flexible strip substrate being transferred in an amount of 4.5 to 12 mL/m2. In the invention, a fluoroaliphatic-group-containing polymer including prescribed repeating units and also satisfying the prescribed condition is added to a coating solution for forming an optically anisotropic layer. As a result, the fluoroaliphatic-group-containing polymer travels rapidly to the interface between the coating solution and air in initial drying after coating, stabilizing the air interface of the coated film. Use of the invention therefore prevents drying unevenness even when the coating amount is increased and the solution is rapidly dried under conditions that tend to cause drying unevenness.

  • Publication number: 20080172903
Abstract: According to the drying method and apparatus of the present invention, at first, the coated film on one end side of the support is more quickly dried than that on the other end side, because drying air is supplied from one end side of the support. Subsequently, the coated film on the other end side of the support is more quickly dried than that on one end side, because drying air is supplied from the other end side of the support. Accordingly, the method and the apparatus can diminish a difference between drying rates in on one end side and in the other end side of the long support, in the whole drying zone. Thus, the method and the apparatus can uniformly dry the support and inhibit the production of a dry spot.

  • Publication number: 20070253062
Abstract: Anti-reflection film includes a transparent support, at least one optical functional layer overlaid on the support, and a low refractive index layer, overlaid on the optical functional layer, and having a lower refractive index than the optical functional layer. An anti-reflection film producing apparatus to produce this includes a coater for coating a surface of the optical functional layer with liquid for forming the low refractive index layer, to form a coating layer. A dryer promotes drying of the coating layer. A heater hardens the coating layer from the dryer at a first temperature level, and then hardens the coating layer at a second temperature level higher than the first temperature level, to form the low refractive index layer. Preferably, a difference between the first and second temperature levels is 1-50 deg. C. Also, ultraviolet rays are applied to the low refractive index layer after the hardening of the heater.

An austenitic stainless steel billet with a P content of at most 0.040% and an S content of at most 0.020% is pierced under conditions such that the pipe expansion ratio H (outer diameter of shell/diameter of billet to be worked) satisfies the following equation to obtain a tube shell of an austenitic stainless steel. {P(%)/(0.025×H?0.01)}2+{S(%)/(0.015×H?0.01)}2?1. When manufacturing a seamless steel pipe of an austenitic stainless steel, the above-described shell is rolled to form a pipe.
