  • Patent number: 6988387
Abstract: The present invention relates to a making method for a seamless metallic tube with a tilting roll type piercing rolling mill (piercer). According to the making method for a seamless metallic tube of the present invention, the rotary forging effect and the circumferential shearing strain can be significantly suppressed without generating uncompleted engagement of a billet. Accordingly, a product having reduced inside defects and excellent inside quality can be produced in high productivity. Further, by strengthening a plug nose rolling portion, a sharpened plug nose is obtained and an engagement limit can be increased. Additionally, a product further excellent in the inside quality can be efficiently produced. Accordingly, the present invention can be applied to wide fields of the piercing rolling of the seamless metallic tube.

  • Patent number: 6650410
Abstract: An apparatus for checking a film for defects having a pair of polarizers placed on the opposite sides of the film to be checked, an illumination light source placed outside the pair of polarizers, a light receiving device placed outside the pair of polarizers and opposite from the illumination light source, and a correction film having substantially the same birefringent characteristics as a portion of the film to be checked having no optical defects. A direction in which the correction film is to be positioned is previously set according to the birefringent characteristics of the film to be checked. The correction film is placed between one of the pair of polarizers and the film to be checked. A luminance signal of light emits from the illumination light source, transmits through the film to be checked, the correction film and the pair of polarizers and is then obtained by the light receiving device to check the film for optical defects.

  • Publication number: 20030173835
Abstract: A slim and efficient vibrating linear actuator includes a stator which sandwiches a coil generating vibrating magnetic field, and a first teeth section and a second teeth section. A mover, including a permanent magnet, is linked to the stator by elastic bodies and energized substantially to a midpoint between the first and second teeth sections. When the mover faces both of the first teeth section and the second teeth section, electric current is supplied to the coil, and when the mover faces only one of the first teeth section or the second teeth section, no electric current is supplied to the coil. This structure allows the vibrating linear actuator to be slimmed down and operate efficiently. A portable information apparatus employing this actuator can be slimmed down and work efficiently.

  • Patent number: 5102590
Abstract: A method for the manufacture of a hollow fiber membrane by mixing polypropylene, an organic filler capable of uniformly dispersing in the polypropylene in a fused state and easily dissolving in an extractant being used, and a crystal seed forming agent. The resulting mixture, in a molten state, is discharged in the shape of a hollow fiber through an annular spinning nozzle and into contact with a liquid made of said organic filler or a compound similar thereto. This results in cooling and solidifying the hollow fiber, which is then forwarded into contact with an extractant incapable of dissolving polypropylene, to remove the organic filler and form the membrane.
