  • Publication number: 20070237430
Abstract: A sheet conveying device includes a conveying path along which a sheet is conveyed. First and second conveying roller pairs are arranged on the conveying path at a predetermined distance from each other. Overlapping conveyance sensing devices are located between the first and second conveying roller pairs and include opposing transmission device and reception device. A distance between the first and second conveying roller pairs is shorter than a length of a minimum size sheet in a conveying direction. In the conveying path between the conveying roller pairs, guide members are disposed to sandwich the transmission device and reception device. The guide members are configured to project upward or downward from a sheet conveying line by a predetermined amount with respect to the conveying path, the sheet conveying line extending through nip points of the first and second conveying roller pairs.

  • Patent number: 7277412
Abstract: A communications system sets a network frame period that can be repeatedly used by a plurality of wireless networks in a predetermined time period. A plurality of channel slots for use by each of the wireless networks is prepared in advance in the network frame. A coordinator operating a PAN activates its PAN in an area of a channel slot that is not used by the other coordinator(s). Since each of the wireless networks detects an unused channel slot in the network frame and uses the unused channel slot, the association process is greatly simplified.

  • Publication number: 20070221007
Abstract: The present invention provides a steering handle for a vehicle, in which no burden is imposed on a driver's arms and wrists during operation of the steering handle. In the steering handle (23) grasped and rotated by both hands of a driver, an axis (Ls) of a steering shaft included in the steering handle is inclined so as to be higher in level in a forward direction of a vehicle body, and a left grip (24L) grasped by a left hand and a right grip (24R) grasped by a right hand are rotatable in opposite directions about an axis (Lg) perpendicular to the axis (Ls) of the steering shaft. Thus, an upper half of the driver's body sitting on a seat and leaning backwards and a plane of rotation of the steering handle (23) are substantially parallel to each other, thereby ensuring that the driver can rotate the steering handle (23) without stretching and withdrawing his or her arms.

  • Patent number: 7275050
Abstract: A storage system manages the total capacity of a shared storage medium to store block-basis data and file-basis data. When block data and its address are input through a fiber channel port, an inputloutput unit converts its data format to a data format that is internally applied by the storage system. When file data and its address are input, a file system converts its data format to a block data format internally applied by the storage system. The file system derives a file logical volume address from the received file address and translates file data to block data. A managing unit derives the address of a block logical volume from the block address delivered from the input/output unit. The managing unit translates block logical volume address or the file logical volume address to a physical address, and writes data to or reads data from the shared storage medium.

  • Publication number: 20070217341
Abstract: Wasteful use of radio resources is minimized in a packet transmission system which performs retransmission control at a higher layer. When transmission of a segment has failed at a lower layer and, for example, when the number of lower-layer retransmit requests from an error detection unit at the lower layer has exceeded a predetermined threshold, any other segment remaining to be transmitted in a packet of which the failed segment forms a part is discarded and, at the same time, a retransmit request is sent to a retransmission control unit at the higher layer.

  • Publication number: 20070216359
Abstract: A pulse charger perform fine control of a charging current according to a battery voltage. The pulse charger includes a switch that turns a charging current from an external power supply on and off. A current detector detects charging current using a current detection resistor. An averaging section averages the output of the current detector. A reference voltage generator generates a reference signal. A comparison section compares an output voltage from the averaging section with the reference signal. A controller controls the switch section based on the output of comparison section. The comparison section includes a comparator that has a hysteresis width. The comparison section outputs an inverse signal between reference voltage and the hysteresis width. The controller performs on/off control of the switch section based on an inverse signal from the comparator and sets an average value of the charging current to a target constant value.
