  • Patent number: 5337319
Abstract: An image processing system including a reconfiguration circuit, typically responding to fault detection. The image processing includes a data compressing unit for compressing image data generated by an image input terminal, a data storage unit for storing output compressed image data, a data decompressing unit for decompressing compressed data and for transferring the decompressed data to an output terminal. A control unit controls the system to compress and store image data, and then to repeatedly read out and transfer the stored data to the image output terminal. When a self diagnosis detects a fault in any one of the compressing unit, data storage unit, or data decompressing unit, the faulty unit is bypassed with a special data bus, thereby allowing system operating to continue.

  • Patent number: 5333554
Abstract: A vehicle such as a railroad car is constructed by connecting together side and roof blocks, each equipped with interior components, in a manner to improve the outer appearance of the connections between the side and roof blocks. Longitudinal beams of the side blocks are in contact with the under surfaces of gutters formed by the outer plate of the roof block. The side and roof blocks, equipped with the interior components, are connected together at the gutter portions by a welding which can be conducted solely from an exterior side of the vehicle. In the interior of the vehicle, the longitudinal beams and joints secured to the side blocks are connected to lateral beams of the roof block by rivets. Thereafter, a third interior plate is provided between interior plates of the side and roof blocks. Since the connections are formed at the gutter portions, the connecting operations can easily be conducted outside the vehicle and in a manner to assure a good from an exterior of appearance.

  • Patent number: 5175633
Abstract: A method of diagnosing the operating conditions of an image processor comprising the steps of preparing a first pattern of data, a second pattern corresponding to the first pattern when it has been compressed normally, a third pattern of data, and a fourth pattern corresponding to the third pattern when it has been expanded normally; diagnosing an operating condition of the compressor by comparing data after the first pattern has been compressed by the compressor with the second pattern; and diagnosing an operating condition of the expander by comparing data obtained after the third pattern has been expanded by the expander with the fourth pattern. The independent diagnosis of the compressor and the expander allows the specific defective chip of component to be identified, thereby facilitating proper repair.

  • Patent number: 5051897
Abstract: A single-chip microcomputer is disclosed, which comprises a central processing unit including a programmable counter for storing address data for accessing a first memory and performing operations and control, a register for setting address data of a second memory and a coincidence circuit. When the contents of the register and programmable counter coincide, the coincidence circuit provides an instruction to the central processing unit. Thus, the central processing unit accesses an address of the second memory in lieu of an address of the first memory, in which an undesired instruction in stored, according to data in the first memory. Subsequently, the second memory address is accessed in lieu of the first memory address with the undesired instruction therein.
