  • Patent number: 8682141
Abstract: A video and audio recording apparatus includes a recording medium that records base data therein and a control unit that starts and stops destructive editing in response to an instruction to start and stop destructive editing received through an operation unit. When part of the base data is deleted, the control unit writes, using management information for managing a physical area of the base data in the recording medium on the per predetermined recording unit basis, information indicating that the physical area in which the deleted part of the base data was recorded is defined as a reserved area on the per predetermined recording unit basis to the management information. When the edit data is input in response to the instruction to start editing, the edit data is overwritten into the physical area managed using the management information and defined as a reserved area on a preferential basis.

  • Patent number: 8630533
Abstract: In an editing apparatus; overwriting data used for insertion editing on base data, which is segmented into each picture including data having a predetermined unit of data amount X, and includes variable-length encoded real data, is variable-length encoded; each picture is sequentially obtained as a target picture, and regarding the target picture, if an amount of the overwriting data is equal to X, the overwriting data is handled as insertion data as it is, otherwise, insertion data is created by adding stuffing data to the overwriting data so that the amount of the overwriting data can be equal to X; a filler having the same amount as a filler of the base data is added to the insertion data having the same total amount as the real data; and the resultant insertion data is added onto the base data.

  • Patent number: 8606072
Abstract: A recording playback apparatus includes a video-signal converter performing certain signal processing to a video signal that is externally received and outputting the resulting video signal; a recorder player storing and playing back the video signal; and a controller switching between a normal mode and an edit mode on the basis of control by an editing apparatus controlling the recording playback apparatus. In the normal mode, a video signal played back by the recorder player is supplied to a display where the video signal is displayed as an image. In the edit mode, switching between a first video signal supplied from the video-signal converter and a second video signal resulting from addition of a delay corresponding to a time necessary for the signal processing in the video-signal converter to a video signal played back by the recorder player is performed to display the resulting video signal in the display.

  • Patent number: 7743037
Abstract: A system and method to facilitate editing of content data. An update metadata identification block identifies metadata that is affected (or must be updated) by destructive edit processing by a material data destructive edit processing block. If the metadata is required for updating, a realtime metadata update block updates realtime metadata and a nonrealtime metadata update block updates nonrealtime metadata in correspondence with the destructive edit processing. A proxy data update block updates proxy data. A clip information file update block updates a clip information file. A clip write block records the data of each clip updated by the above-mentioned processing to an optical disc.

  • Patent number: 7421189
Abstract: An original coded stream reproduced from a magnetic tape is decoded by an MPEG decoder, and original video data of a base band is thus generated. A switching circuit generates edited video data by switching the original video data and supplied insertion video data on the base band level at IN-point and OUT-point. The MPEG encoder generates an edited coded stream by coding the edited video data supplied from the switching circuit. A system controller controls a recording circuit to record a picture changed by editing processing, from among the edited coded stream, onto the magnetic tape.

  • Patent number: 5235422
Abstract: A synchronizing clock generating circuit for generating synchronizing clocks timed to synchronizing signals contained in input video signals is disclosed. A trapezoidal wave from a trapezoidal wave generator 19 and a reference pulse RP from a reference pulse generator 12 are compared as to phase in a phase comparator 21, while the trapezoidal wave and a pseudo-reference pulse rp from a CH2 generator 23 are compared as to phase in a phase comparator 22, and a difference between outputs of phase comparison is used in a dc detection circuit 24 for controlling the gradient of the trapezoidal wave. Besides, an output of a VCO 15, controlled by the results of phase comparison between the trapezoidal wave and the reference pulse RP is used as a synchronizing clock signal.
