  • Patent number: 4278452
Abstract: Cyclone separator for separating solid particles from particle laden gas having an outlet pipe assembly which includes a pair of co-axial outlet pipes spaced radially apart from each other to form an annular passage therebetween. The passage is connected through a so-called aspiration effect or jet pump effect type of suction device to ports located around the outlet pipe assembly. The outermost portion of a spiral upward flow of gas in the outlet pipe assembly which includes a substantial part of the particles contained in the upward gas flow in the outlet pipe assembly is drawn into the passage between the outlet pipes without disturbance of the upward flow and returned back and discharged through the ports around the outlet pipe assembly into a separating chamber to disturb the outer surface of the outlet pipe assembly thereby to prevent formation of a boundary layer on the outer surface of the outlet pipe assembly.

  • Patent number: 4257786
Abstract: Cyclone separator for separating solid particles from particle laden gas having an outlet pipe assembly which includes a pair of co-axial outlet pipes radially spaced apart from each other to form an annular passage therebetween. A plurality of accelerating air supplying nozzles are provided around the outer pipe of the outlet pipe assembly. A blower is provided to supply air under pressure to the annular passage and the nozzles. The air under pressure is discharged from the nozzles along the outer surface of the outlet pipe assembly in the same direction as that of a spiral downward flow of particle laden gas thereby accelerating the spiral downward flow and disturbing the outer surface of the outlet pipe assembly to prevent formation of a boundary layer.

  • Patent number: 4149861
Abstract: A cyclone separator comprising a separating tower defining a separating chamber having a gas inlet at the upper portion for introducing gaseous fluid having particles suspended therein with a tangential velocity component, and outlet pipe means co-axially with the separating chamber at the upper portion thereof to allow the gaseous fluid to flow out of the separating chamber. The separating tower has a bottom which is slightly inclined with respect to a horizontal plane to provide a lowermost portion in the bottom, and a particle outlet port at said lowermost portion. A vibrating motor applies vibration at least to said bottom of the separating tower, and a baffle plate is provided in said separating chamber above and spaced from said particle outlet port.
