  • Patent number: 4753318
Abstract: Disclosed herein is an engine noise control device for use in automobiles or the like comprising a noise control member which is attached to an opening of an engine room of an automobile or the like. The noise control member has a plurality of hollow conduit passages penetrating from one of surfaces to the other surface thereof. The hollow conduit passages are so arranged that the length of the conduit passages becomes shorter from the central portion to the peripheral portion of the noise control member. Thereby, a noise-propagating direction is changed by controlling the noise to reduce the energy of sounds radiated and/or diffracted to the outside.

  • Patent number: 4731214
Abstract: The process for preparing a thermally shrinkable multilayer film composed of a polyamide resin layer as one surface layer and a sealant material layer as the other surface layer includes the step of causing the polyamide resin layer of the oriented laminate film to absorb water in the amount of 7.0% by weight or more before or during the thermal treatment. The laminate film is then dried so as to cause the polyamide resin layer to make the water content in the range form 2.5% by weight to 6.5% by weight while maintaining the oriented laminate film at temperatures of 90.degree. C. or lower after or during the thermal treatment. The thermally shrinkable multilayer film thus prepared is suitable for thermally shrinking packing foods such as roast meat or fresh cut meat.

  • Patent number: 4595059
Abstract: A method of providing a conductor pipe to an opening portion of a well such as an oil well, gas well, geothermal power well or the like. A bore is formed in the ground with a casing tube and an auger screw, inserted into the casing tube, to a predetermined depth, after which the auger screw is withdrawn from the casing tube. Then, the conductor pipe is inserted and concentrically positioned in the casing tube, placed in the bore, to form an annular space between them, to which space a solidifiable filler is supplied from the bottom portion of the space to the upper portion thereof.
