  • Patent number: 5647535
Abstract: The present invention relates to an efficient method of applying a metallic paint using both an air atomized spray machine and a spin coating machine. In the method of painting, matching the color shade of metallic painting using an air atomized spray machine with the color shade of metallic painting using a spin coating machine is achieved in the following manner. The overall content of the metallic pigment in the metallic paint for said air atomized spray machine and for said spin coating machine is maintained almost the same, but the ratio of the brilliant pigment and the color pigment composing said metallic pigment is varied to increase the content of the brilliant pigment in the metallic paint for the spin coating machine compared with the content in the metallic paint for the air atomized spray machine.

  • Patent number: 5620750
Abstract: The disclosed present invention relates to a method of applying a metallic coating, such as a finish paint coating to an automobile. This method comprises two processes or stages using a bell-shaped rotary atomizer and a metallic paint. The amount of paint ejected from the rotary atomizer, shaping air pressure, and coating speed are maintained at approximately the same values during both the first and second processes. In the first process, the peripheral speed of the bell-shaped atomizing head is set within a range of 39 to 65 m/s. In the subsequent second process, the peripheral speed of the bell-shaped atomizing head is set to a lower value than in the first process, that is, within the range of 21 to 39 m/s, and the reduction rate of the nonvolatile (NV) value is set to 3% or more. This method improves the orientation of a bright pigment, enabling the automobile to appear high-grade, and providing a quality metallic coating.

  • Patent number: 5596276
Abstract: The invention provides a cavity resonator for an electron spin resonance device in which modulation coils for generating a modulation magnetic field to be applied to a sample in the cavity resonator are arranged at an exterior of the cavity resonator. The cavity resonator comprises a body being rectangular-defined by predetermined length, width and height. The body has a pair of side walls being vertical to the modulation magnetic field. The side wall respectively have at least thin portions of a thickness being nearly equal to or less than a skin depth of a skin effect appearing at the side walls. The modulation coils are arranged on the thin portions so as to have the modulation magnetic field be transmitted through the thin portions into the interior of the cavity resonator. Alternatively, it is possible that inner walls of the body are overlaid with metallic foils having at least sufficiently smaller thickness than a skin depth of a skin effect appearing at the walls.

  • Patent number: 5471058
Abstract: The invention provides an anesthesia monitor being able to directly make a separation and a determination in real time all components of a gas in which components having the same integer molecular weight exists, more particularly an expiration gas and an inspiration gas as the object of analysis. The monitor has a small size, a low price and a operational facility. A microscopic quantity of the expiration gas is introduced from a circular route of an anesthesia circuit for an inhalation anesthesia to the anesthesia monitor through a material pipe-line. A gas portion is transmitted by a rotary pump through valves and opening and closing valves to a measurement cell within a vacuum chamber arranged in a gap of between magnetic poles of permanent magnets in a Fourier transformation mass analyzer so that the expiration gas is subjected to a high speed sampling. An ionization of the ions is carried out within the measurement cell.

  • Patent number: 5465047
Abstract: In a fixed polarized magnetic field generated by permanent magnets 10, a cylindrical cavity resonator 12 and a coil 14 modulating the magnetic field are provided. A micro-wave f generated from a micro-wave oscillator 16 is supplied through an isolator 18 and a subsequent attenuator 20 and then a circulator 24 to the cavity resonator. The oscillation output of a modulating frequency oscillator 42 is supplied to the coil 14. A movable end plate 60 is moved by a driving feature 58 to vary the resonance frequency f.sub.0 for a detection thereof and a subsequent negative feed back to a micro-wave oscillator 16 through a circuit comprising a low frequency amplifier 48, a phase detector 50, a low frequency oscillator 54, a phase shifter 56 and a micro-wave oscillator power source 52 thereby the micro-wave frequency f is so swept as to be maintained to be equal to the resonance frequency f.sub.0.

  • Patent number: 5389878
Abstract: The invention provides an electron spin resonance device in which a measuring sample is arranged in a cavity resonator in a polarization magnetic field for a receipt of a predetermined microwave power and a subsequent resonance signal detection from said sample. A microwave signal amplifier is arranged on a prestage of a microwave detection circuit for an addition of a part of an output from a microwave oscillator at an input terminal of said amplifier so as to accomplish a balanced cancellation of a microwave reflective power from said cavity resonator.

  • Patent number: 5264697
Abstract: The present invention relates to a Fourier transform mass spectrometer suitable for analysis of a particular component of a sample gas made of known components, which is adapted so as to prevent the high-frequency electric field applied to the high vacuum cell from deviating due to a variation in the long cycle of the static magnetic field applied to the high vacuum cell, which is characterized in that the variation in the long cycle of the magnetic field applied is detected as a deviation in the ion cyclotron resonance frequency of the particular component and the high frequency for forming the high-frequency electric field is made variable in accordance with the variation in the ion cyclotron resonance frequency.
