Abstract: The present invention provides a taurine-type compound of the formula ##STR1## wherein R is a phenyl group optionally having substituent(s) selected from lower alkyl, halogen-substituted lower alkyl, lower alkoxy, lower alkanoyl and halogen atom; and n is 2 or 3. The above compound is useful as an agent for improving microcirculation.

Abstract: A method for producing a weather strip of which the sectional shape is continuously changed in its longitudinal direction, has the steps of simultaneously extruding two rubber members out of two outlet ports formed in an extrusion head of an extruder so as to be close to and parallel with each other, each of the two rubber members having a uniform sectional shape in each longitudinal direction, corresponding to each of two pieces obtained by cutting the weather strip in its longitudinal direction, overlapping opposed side portions of the two extruded rubber members, joining the overlapped portion to obtain a joined weather strip of which the sectional shape is continuously changed in its longitudinal direction, and feeding the joined weather strip into a vulcanizing bath to be vulcanized.

Abstract: A sulfonic acid ester derivative represented by the general formula ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 is a hydrogen atom, alkyl having 1 to 4 carbon atoms or alkoxy having 1 to 4 carbon atoms, A is a group represented by the general formula ##STR2## (wherein R.sub.2 and R.sub.3 are each alkyl having 1 to 4 carbon atoms) or by the general formula ##STR3## (wherein R.sub.4 and R.sub.5 are each alkyl having 1 to 4 carbon atoms or, when taken together with the carbon atom to which they are attached, form cycloalkyl having 4 to 6 carbon atoms), and l is an integer of from 1 to 3, and a process for preparing the derivative.

Abstract: Disclosed are a compound of the formula ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 is lower alkyl, A is a group of the formula ##STR2## (in which R.sub.3 is hydrogen or lower alkyl) or methylene, and R.sub.2 is hydrogen or a group of the formula --(CH.sub.2).sub.n COOH (in which n is an integer of 1 to 6) or a salt of the derivative, and preparation thereof. The compounds have an excellent aldose reductase inhibitory action.

Abstract: A weather strip for an automobile has a base portion to be installed along an opening of the automobile for a door, and a hollow sealing portion to be pressed by an outer peripheral edge of the door. One portion of the hollow sealing portion is formed into a molded portion by molding. The molded portion has a slit through which a core for forming the molded portion hollow is drawn out, and a partition wall longitudinally partitioning an inner space of the molded portion and separating the slit in the middle thereof. The partition wall extends straight in the direction inclined with respect to the door pressing direction. According to the weather strip of the present invention, the separated slit is not widely opened at the door pressing time by virtue of the partition wall, and accordingly, uniform flexibility can be obtained over the whole length of the molded portion since the partition wall is inclined with respect to the door pressing direction.

Abstract: A weather strip to be installed around an opening of an automobile, has a trim portion of a letter U-shaped section, which is composed of parallel side walls and a bottom wall connecting the side walls, and a seal portion projecting from an outer surface of one of the parallel side walls, which is positioned on the outside of the automobile when the trim portion is mounted on a flange formed around the opening. The bottom wall is inclined in such a direction as to make an acute angle with the one side wall. In the weather strip wherein the bottom wall is inclined with respect to the side walls, the trim portion can be prevented from twisting and leaning even when being curved along the corner portion, and mounted thereon. And at this time, good sealing properties can be maintained together with good external appearance.

Abstract: A wheel cover wherein a plurality of struts are formed integral on the back face circumference of the wheel cover made of synthetic resin, a wire ring is fitted into inner recesses in the struts, and engagement pieces made of synthetic resin are fitted from outside onto the struts, respectively, to fix the wire ring to the struts. The wheel cover can be mounted on the wheel rim in such a way that the engagement pieces thus assembled with the struts are pressed onto the hump portion of the wheel rim.

Abstract: A wheel cover provided with a pre-loaded spring mechanism wherein a plurality of inner and outer prop-like stopper ribs are arranged integral along the circumferential rim of the wheel cover on the backside thereof, said wheel cover being made of synthetic resin, and a spring which can be expanded wider than the interval between the inner and outer stopper ribs is fitted between the inner and outer stopper ribs, whereby the interval between the inner and outer stopper ribs can be usually kept certain to provide a pre-loaded spring force for fixing the wheel cover to the rim of a disc wheel.

Abstract: Disclosed are a compound of the formula ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 is lower alkyl, A is a group of the formula ##STR2## (in which R.sub.3 is hydrogen or lower alkyl) or methylene, and R.sub.2 is hydrogen or a group of the formula --(CH.sub.2).sub.n COOH (in which n is an integer of 1 to 6) or a salt of the derivative, and preparation thereof. The compounds have an excellent aldose reductase inhibitory action.

Abstract: In determining blood coagulation factor XIII in plasma, the activity of XIIIa, an activated form of the factor XIII, is measured by a method using casein and a fluorescent cadaverine derivative as the substrate and also featuring use of molecular sieve chromatography for separating a cadaverine derivative reacted with casein and an unreacted compound.

Abstract: Compounds of Formula I are described ##STR1## in which X and Y are independently --NH--, --O-- or --S--; Z may be a pyrimidine, triazine, triazole, thiazole, thiadiazole ring. The methods of preparation are described. The compounds are useful as antipeptic ulcer agents.

Abstract: Novel sulfonate derivatives represented by the formulaR.sub.1 SO.sub.3 CH.sub.2 CO(CH.sub.2).sub.n R.sub.2act to inhibit esterases and chymotripsin and are useful as antilipemic agents, anti-inflammatory agents, immunity controlling agents, etc.

Abstract: A sulfonate derivative represented by the formula ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 is lower alkyl, lower alkoxy or halogen, l is an integer of from 0 to 3, n is 0 or 1, A is straight-chain or branched-chain alkylene having 1 to 4 carbon atoms, and R.sub.2 is hydrogen or lower alkyl but, when n is 0 or 1 and A is straight-chain alkylene with 1 to 4 carbon atoms, is not hydrogen and the method for preparing the same.

Abstract: A metal wire-containing polymeric laminate tape is continuously produced by superimposing a pair of primary cross-linked, electro-insulating thermoplastic polymer tapes side by side along the longitudinal axes thereof under tension, while a plurality of metal wires are interposed, under tension, in parallel to each other, between the primary tapes along the longitudinal axes thereof; by heating the resultant precursory laminate tape up to a temperature of from 10.degree. to 120.degree. C. above the melting point of the corresponding thermoplastic polymer, which is not cross-linked; by pressing the heated precursory laminate tape by using a pair of elastic pressing rolls, whereby the primary tapes are heat-bonded together to provide a body of laminate matrix within which the metal wires are embedded; and, optionally, by cooling the resultant laminate tape.

Abstract: A cooking gas oven of the type with a heating housing having a door on its front and a combustion chamber of forcible exhaust type disposed below the heating housing. A burner is provided in an oven main body. There is formed in the combustion chamber, an intake passage for introducing the external air from an air intake opening in an outside surface of the combustion chamber, into a position of the burner. In the passage, there is a regulating plate for flowing the air over the burner at accelerated speed.

Abstract: A cooking apparatus of the type that a heating chamber is provided with a heat source and a magnetron so that cooking by heat of the heat source and cooking by microwave of the magnetron can be carried out. There are provided, on the outer side of the heating chamber, a stirrer chamber and a waveguide which is in communication therewith and is disposed on the output side of the magnetron. There is provided, on the further outer side thereof, a ventilation duct which is in communication with a cooling fan. There are disposed in the ventilation duct on the upstream side and on the downstream side thereof a radiation fin of the magnetron and a windmill for driving a stirrer provided in the stirrer chamber.

Abstract: A binary transversal filter which has a plurality of stages of shift registers that are driven by timing signals of a frequency which is a multiple of that of clock pulses being introduced, and a weighting circuit which weights outputs of shift registers of each of the stages, so that outputs of the weighting circuit can be synthesized. The characteristic feature of the present invention resides in the facts that NRZ signals are introduced into the shift registers, and the shift registers are driven by timing signals of a frequency which is a multiple of that of clock pulses of the NRZ signals.
