  • Patent number: 4456577
Abstract: A method of producing a rotary dresser include forming a core piece of an iron-base powder and filling in tungsten or like metal powder between the core and an outer mold member containing diamond grit or the like. The construction is then heated to melt and infiltrate a metal alloy, such that a network structure is formed about the powdered metal particles. In a further embodiment, the metal materials may be arranged in concentric form about a metal bushing such that the bushing is included in the final structure.

  • Patent number: 4449818
Abstract: A method is provided for inspecting defects in the surface of an object to be inspected, wherein oblique lighting and perpendicular lighting are alternately applied to a location where a defect or a foreign substance possibly exists. Brightness detected in the location under the application of oblique lighting is evaluated as a foreign substance so as to be discriminated from a defect. Defects are classified through shape recognition of a defect pattern obtained under the application of perpendicular lighting.

  • Patent number: 4363977
Abstract: A device for discriminating between two values of a signal using DC offset compensation including an automatic gain control circuit, a peak detector circuit and a feedback path from the peak detector circuit to the input circuit of the automatic gain control circuit. The value of the feedback current is regulated so that the maximum value of one of the same polarity signals and the opposite polarity signal coincides with the minimum value of the other of the two signals.

  • Patent number: 4347617
Abstract: An asynchronous transmission system for binary-coded information is disclosed. According to this system, in a transmitting terminal (A), when successive data of the same code in a set of asynchronous data lasts for a predetermined period of time (T.sub.1), a refresh pulse, the polarity of which is opposite to that of the successive data, is added to a transmission signal. However, the addition of such a refresh pulse to the transmission signal is inhibited for a predetermined period of time (T.sub.2) to allow for a change of data. In a receiving terminal (B), a pulse, the width of which is larger or equal to a minimum period of data, and a pulse, the width of which is smaller than or equal to a pulse-width (T.sub.0) of a refresh pulse, can be discriminated and removed by a pulse-width discrimination circuit. As a result, the refresh pulse is not present in the output signal of the pulse-width discrimination circuit. Thus, the original asynchronous data is restored.

  • Patent number: 4339590
Abstract: A cyclic sulfur compound represented by the formula, ##STR1## wherein R is --CH.sub.2 CH.sub.2 O).sub.n CH.sub.2 CH.sub.2 --, m is an integer of 2 to 4 and n is an integer of 1 to 3 is novel and can be used as a crosslinking agent instead of sulfur per se and also as a monomer for preparing polysulfide polymer. Said cyclic sulfur compound can be produced by reacting a metal sulfide represented by the formula, ##STR2## wherein R is the same as defined above, R' and R" are independently selected from alkyl groups and aryl groups and M is silicon or tin, with a halogen, sulfur dichloride or sulfur monochloride.
