  • Publication number: 20070014790
Abstract: To determine the biological role of ZHX1, found previously, which acts as a transcriptional repressor, the inventors conducted a search of ZHX1—interacting proteins using a yeast two-hybrid system. Molecular cloning and determination of the nucleotide sequence of the full-length cDNA encoding a novel protein revealed a novel protein with SEQ ID NO: 1. The protein (ZHX3), like ZHX1, contains two zinc-finger (Znf) motifs and five homeodomains (HDs) and has a transcriptional repressor activity.

  • Publication number: 20040261663
Abstract: The invention provides a transparent and tenacious coating film using an inorganic paint composition prepared by adding a borate salt into an alkali metal silicate, and further mixing thereto lepidoblastic transparent silica with a thickness of 0.01 to 0.5 &mgr;m and a surface diameter of 2 to 5 &mgr;m. The alkali metal silicate is solidified with metal ions issued from the borate salt to form a coating film, which contains a glass formed by solidifying dissolved boric acid in the coating film. The coating film can be made tenacious without impairing transparency by dispersing many flakes of transparent silica as laminated layers.

  • Publication number: 20040261123
Abstract: A decoding apparatus is provided for decoding transport streams in which compressed video and audio data, a program association table (PAT), and program map tables (PMTs) are multiplexed. The apparatus comprises a specification unit, a search unit, and decoding circuits. The specification unit allows a user to specify a service ID and program IDs corresponding to user's desired video and audio data. The search unit searches service IDs described on the PAT and program IDs on the PMT for the service ID and the program IDs specified through the specification unit. Determinations for consistency are made between the service ID described on the PAT and the user's desired service ID and between the program IDs on the PMT and the user's desired program IDs. The decoding circuits decode compressed video and audio data corresponding to the service ID and the program IDs searched by the search unit.

  • Patent number: 5485568
Abstract: A method and device for describing a complex color raster image as a collection of objects in a hierarchical and device independent format. The purpose of structured imaging (SI) is to expand the scope of a raster image to a collection of individually manipulable component objects. An SI is a hierarchical description of a single output image raster which may be used as one component of a page in a structured document. Objects contributing to the output raster may originate from text, graphics, other rasters or a combination thereof, and all maintain their heritage for selectability and modification. The SI describes not only the source data but also the image processing operations required for rendering the output raster. SI technology supports re-editability, customization and enhancement, automatic image assembly and high performance imaging. Thus, such a model has implications not only in an image editing and processing arena, but also in the filing and printing services used for image handling.

  • Patent number: 5090338
Abstract: Incineration flyash is treated by reducing the organic chlorine compounds contained in the flyash. A cylindrical body equipped with a rotating shaft having a screw conveyor and agitating blades for conveying and agitating the flyash is filled to at least a 75 vol % charge so that contact of the flyash with oxygen is made as small as possible. The flyash is subjected to agitation and heat-treatment at 300.degree. C. or higher. The cylindrical body has a feeding port for the waste incineration flyash and a discharging port for the discharge of the treated flyash. The screw conveyor is at the introducing part and has a pitch that is successively reduced toward the agitating part for charging the flyash in the agitating part at a greater vol. % than that which occurs in the introducing part.

  • Patent number: 4885750
Abstract: A digital signal has frames each composed of n data words and a parity code. One data word has m bits. The letters n and m represent natural numbers equal to or greater than 2. One frame of data words is written into a memory. When writing of one frame of the data words into the memory is completed, a write end flag is generated and written in the memory. After the detection of the write end flag, the data words are read out from the memory. An error is detected from the read data words and is corrected.

  • Patent number: 4868827
Abstract: Parity is generated in accordance with digital data. The parity is added to the digital data to produce a coded signal. The coded signal is recorded. The recorded signal is reproduced. The reproduced signal is decoded and code word errors are corrected to reproduce the digital data. The number of symbols of the digital data equals m-(2n+1). The number of symbols of the parity equals 2n+1. Each of the symbols has l bits. The characters m and n denote natural numbers. The character l denotes a natural number equal to or greater than 2. Coding and decoding are performed by use of new-type Reed-Solomon code.

  • Patent number: 4811370
Abstract: A first digital sound data of N-bits delivered from the input terminal is controlled by a mute control signal indicating either on-mute state signifying the state where mute operation is conducted or off-mute state signifying the state where no mute operation is conducted. This circuit includes a level control circuit, a register, a bit shift circuit, and a data selector. The level control circuit outputs a second digital sound data corresponding to the soundless state at the time of on-mute. It outputs data of which level gradually rises from the level of the soundless state to the level indicated by the first digital sound data at the beginning of off-mute and outputs the first digital duration at times subsequent thereto. Thus, for a duration at the beginning of off-mute, sound volume gradually rises. The register and the bit shift circuit gradually attenuate the first digital sound data to the level of the soundless state. Thus, for a duration at the beginning of on-mute, sound volume gradually lowers.
