    Abstract: A motor drive device includes: an inverter circuit configured to drive a motor; a drive circuit to which a control voltage is applied, the drive circuit being configured to output a drive signal to the inverter circuit; and a relay configured to stop application of the control voltage to the drive circuit. The relay is configured to detect a motor current that is output from the inverter circuit to the motor, and to stop application of the control voltage to the drive circuit when the motor current reaches a first threshold or higher that is determined in advance.
