    Abstract: A display panel includes a bonded substrate which is bonded with a seal portion having an inlet portion, in which an inlet of a fluid is formed, a sealing material which seals the inlet, metal film patterns which are provided in an end portion of the bonded substrate, and external connection terminals which respectively have rectangular base portions and are provided in parallel in a transverse direction of the base portion. Each metal film pattern has a rectangular pattern base portion. The metal film patterns are provided in parallel such that the center position of the pattern base portion in the transverse direction is aligned with the center position of the base portion in the transverse direction. The width of the pattern base portion in the transverse direction is equal to or smaller than the width of the base portion in the transverse direction at the same arrangement position.

According to the present invention, as a polarization splitting unit polarization-splitting incident light or exiting light upon/from a light valve, F number of a polarization splitting plane formed between prism members in an axial direction in which an incident angle of light is small (Y-axis direction) is smaller than F number in an axial direction in which an incident angle is large (X?-axis direction or Z?-axis direction) so that the light is incident so as to be tilted in the axial direction in which the incident angle is small. This can suppress an amount of change in incident angle of light upon a polarization splitting plane to a small value and can increase an amount of incident light upon the polarization splitting plane in the state that polarization-splitting performance is maintained in the best range.

    Abstract: In the present invention, there is disclosed a reflective mirror whose contrast or resolution performance is equal to that of a surface mirror of a glass mirror for general use and which does not have any problem in reliability of resistance to environment and whose color shift or brightness performance is inhibited from being degraded. For this, in the present invention, a reflective film is formed on a glass substrate by use of silver mirror reaction, and a topcoat is formed of a colorless/transparent resin. At this time, a wavelength of a crest of a ripple indicated by a reflectance characteristic is constituted to substantially agree with that of a green luminescent line. Accordingly, a back projection type video display device which is satisfactory in the contrast or resolution performance can be prepared.
