  • Patent number: 6970928
Abstract: To secure a communication path between a distribution server that distributes content to clients and a terminal apparatus of a content distributor more reliably while content is distributed by live distribution. In a content supply system 100, in order to use a streaming server 102 to perform a live distribution, a user PC 106 to be used makes a reservation for a time zone, etc. to a server reservation control center 101 over the Internet 103. When the reservation is accepted and the content is sent from the user PC 106 to the streaming server 102, data is sent via a dedicated server connection network 108.

  • Publication number: 20050223041
Abstract: To allow many users to efficiently use the functions of a processing server that performs predetermined processing, via a network and also to prevent interference by illegal users. In a content supply system 100, in order to use a streaming server 102 to perform a live distribution, a user PC 106 to be used makes a reservation for a time zone, etc. to a server reservation control center 101. When the reservation is accepted, the user PC 106 sends a reconfirmation (reconfirmation of the reservation) to the server reservation control center 101 by six hours before the distribution start time according to the reservation. If the reconfirmation is not made by six hours before, the server reservation control center 101 cancels the reservation. On the other hand, if the reconfirmation is made by six hours before, the server reservation control center 101 confirms the reservation and carries out billing processing.

  • Patent number: 6795097
Abstract: According to the present invention, when displaying a jog-dial window menu on a liquid crystal display, hierarchically-structured menu items are displayed with a hierarchy icon, thereby enabling the user to easily recognize whether or not that menu item is hierarchically structured and improving the operation of menu selection. Furthermore, scroll display of a character string indicating a menu item is performed in an identification frame, thereby enabling the user to read the entire character string from beginning to end for easy recognition thereof and improving the operation of menu selection. Still further, a character string of a menu selected from among a plurality of menu items is displayed in a different color from other character strings, thereby enabling the user to easily recognize the selected menu item and improving the operation of menu selection.

  • Publication number: 20040109587
Abstract: An image recognition apparatus, method and program capable of discriminatively recognizing an object at an enhanced recognition rate despite an increase in the total number of reference images registered in image databases. When any individual person or public corporation for example is to be specified from the object image obtained by shooting the person or the like, one image database of the attribute corresponding to various situations, or familiarity to the object image is selected automatically, and then the person or corporation is specified from the shot image while referring to the reference images stored in the image database of the selected attribute.

  • Publication number: 20040064510
Abstract: The present invention relates to a sending apparatus that efficiently sends content provided by a viewer/listener to a sender and that performs live distribution using the content. Program content to be live-distributed by a user terminal (10) serving as the sender and sender specific information for specifying the user terminal (10) on the Internet (11) are distributed to a client terminal (12) via a streaming distribution server (13). Content provided by the client terminal (12) is directly sent to the user terminal (10) on the basis of the sender specific information. The user terminal (10) performs live distribution using the content that has been sent from the client terminal (12).

  • Publication number: 20040017945
Abstract: A two-dimensional code recognition processing method for recognizing a two-dimensional code lade of a plurality of square cells arranged in accordance with predetermined layout rules. The method comprises the steps of: generating binary data from image information acquired externally in accordance with a predetermined threshold value; detecting a reference cell serving as a reference in recognizing the two-dimensional code based on the binary data generated in the binary data generating step; detecting corner cells each located in a predetermined search range with respect to the reference cell detected in the reference cell detecting step, on the basis of the binary data generated in the binary data generating step; and detecting code data assigned to the two-dimensional code existing inside an area of a code part enclosed by the reference cell and by the corner cells on the basis of the binary data generated in the binary data generating step.

  • Patent number: 6611623
Abstract: Information processing apparatus and method in which an objective image is acquired, and indentification information corresponding to specific image pattern is recognized from the objective image. It is determined whether the identification information recognized in local identification information for starting processing previously registered for each terminal, or any one of a plurality of code representing global identification information for starting processing common to all terminals. If the identification information is determined to be local identification information, the processing previously registered for each terminal is locally executed. If the identification information represents the global identification information, a request is made to a global code server that searches an associated global database having a plurality of stored codes and corresponding information, to execute the global processing corresponding to the identification information.

  • Publication number: 20020194351
Abstract: In a content distribution system, content distribution control server, content transmission processing control method, content transmission processing control program, content transmission processing control program storage medium, content transmission device, content transmission control program, and content transmission control program storage medium, content can be reliably transmitted in accordance with the communication environment of a user terminal. A live casting server 150 of a server reservation control center 5 limits the number of streams by which the user PC 4 performs the parallel transmission of a plurality of live content at different transmission rates, in accordance with the type of circuit, which can previously prevent the user PC 4 from performing the parallel transmission of live content using the untransmittable number of streams, thus making it possible to reliably transmit the live content in accordance with the communication environment of the user PC 4.
