  • Patent number: 5603782
Abstract: A steel plate having a plated layer on the upper and lower surfaces thereof to be processed into a battery can which is cylindrical and open in one end thereof by drawing and ironing processing. The plated steel plate has more than 1.2 as a Lankford value (r) which is a width deformation degree in a lengthwise direction thereof/a thickness deformation degree in the lengthwise direction thereof, a width deformation degree in a widthwise direction thereof/a thickness deformation degree in the widthwise direction thereof, a width deformation degree in an oblique direction thereof/a thickness deformation degree in the oblique direction thereof. In-plane anisotropy .DELTA.r which is the difference among the Lankford values (r) is set to be less than .+-.0.15. In order to make the elongation coefficient of the plated steel plate constant in the three directions, a very low carbon steel plate is used. The steel plate is cold-rolled at 80-90%.

  • Patent number: 5169170
Abstract: In construction of a sandwich type ski including a core and upper and lower surface guards sandwiching the core, a prismatic reinforcement having high Young's modulus is present about the bottom middle of the core so that presence of the reinforcement should resist concave warping of the ski in the lower sliding surface at load application in use via dispersion of compression on the boundaries between the core and the reinforcement.

  • Patent number: 4925770
Abstract: The invention provides a novel contrast-enhancing agent for photolithography which is used as an overcoating on a positive-working photoresist layer for enhancing the contrast of the photoresist in a low-contrast exposure to light. The composition comprises, in addition to a watersoluble polymer, e.g., poly(vinyl alcohol), poly(vinyl pyrroilidone) and pullulan, as the binder, a specific photo-bleachable organic compound having, in a molecule, at least one nitrogen-containing heterocyclic aromatic structure represented by the general formula ##STR1## in which Z is a divalent group to form the heterocyclic aromatic ring with the nitrogen atom, X is an anionic group of monovalency and n is a positive integer of, e.g., 1 or 2.

  • Patent number: 4722779
Abstract: An air/fuel ratio sensor having two units of probe is disclosed each of which comprises two sensing elements, each having a pair of porous electrodes on oppostie sides of an oxygen ion-conductive solid electrolyte; a gas compartment which is formed in contact with one porous electrode for each sensing element and which communicates with the gaseous atmosphere of interest by way of a gas diffusion limiting portion; and an internal reference oxygen source which is formed in contact with one sensing element on the porous electrode side which is opposite the side where said gas compartment is provided. The oxygen source communicates with the outside by way of a leakage resisting portion. The gas compartment in the first unit of probe communicates directly with the gaseous atmosphere of interest by way of a first gas diffusion limiting portion while the gas compartment in the second unit of probe communicates with the gas in the first unit of probe by way of a second gas diffusion limiting portion.
